Mayor McNutt offered -motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting1to be held at 4:30 p.m. on December c5, 1972, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,. Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the claim of Henry Cooksey in the amount of $74.20 for damage to his 1970 Pontiac which was struck by a fire truck on November 19, 1972, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby,,that the City's complusory retirement provisions be waived as to J. Y. O'Bannon of the Cemetery', Department, and that his employment be extended fora-pe.riod of.eghteen (18) months past February 19', 1973. - Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). r% Commissioner Hornsby offered the following motionoseconded by Commissioner Harx Whereas, Cletus Woods was to have -been placed under C.ivil.Service as a permaner employee of the City of Paduca-h-;- effective: May 15, 1972 on condition that he provide evidence of a satisfactory physical condition, and WHEREAS, the said Cletus Woods, -has failed to provide satisfactory evidence of physical fitness, and has failed to appear for work on a regular basis. NOW THEREFORE, I move that upon recommendation of Gene Ruoff, the Director of Public Services, and James Thompson, Director of the. Refuse Department, that Cletus Woods be terminated as a collector in the Refuse Department, effective December 4, 1972-. Howerton City Manager 451 1 Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an c ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILSON CHEVROLET-CADILLAC, INC FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF EIGHT (8) 1973 FOUR -DOOR AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, TWO (2) NEW 1973 FOUR -DOOR AUTOMOBILES TO BE USED IN THE DETECTIVE DIVISI AND ONE (1) 1973 VAN TRUCK TO BE USED IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-49. CITY MANAGER -GENERALLY, OF THEM CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY. OF . PADUCAH , - KENTUCKY" , be adopted. Ad -opted -on. call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and'Mayor McNutt (5). Mayor McNutt offered the following motion, seconded by:.Commissioner Hornsby: I move that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE STATEMENT OF ANTICIPATED REVENUE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1972; REVISING AND AMENDING THE APPROPRIATION OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS, REVENUE AND INCOME ON HAND, AND COLLECTED AND TO BE COLLECTED IN SAID YEAR; AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF UNUSED APPROPRIATIONS FOR ONE PURPOSE TO ANOTHER PURPOSE; MAKING SUCH TRANSFERS; APPROPRIATING AVAILABLE REVENUE$) NOT INCLUDED IN THE BUDGET FOR SAID YEAR; FIXING THE APPORTIONMENT OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS11 FOR THE PURPOSES SPECIFIED THEREIN; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH"4j be introduced and remain on file for public inspection until the notice of the transfel of funds as provided herein shall have been published as required by law, and shall bel put upon its final passage after such publication. William Howerton be appointed City Manager and Associate Counsel of the City of Paducah for anfl indefinite period, beginning December 11, 1972, at a salary of $23,000,00 per year, a further that he be designated a member of the Electric Plant Board of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and for the convenience of the City he be furnished an automobile for his use and benefit and on behalf of the City. No. 452 --- Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah December 5, 1972 J.W.Howerton' Mayor McNutt made the following appointment: Member of Elec Plant B Subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, I hereby appoint J. William Howerton as a member of the Electric Plant Board effective December 11, 19721 to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Larry E. Thomas as City Manager of the City of Paducah, Kentucky. Approve J. I Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the W. Howerton Elec Plant B . action taken by Mayor Alice H. McNutt, appointing J. William Howerton as a member of the Electric Plant Board of the City of Paducah, be approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). W. David Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that W. David Denton Corp. Counse Denton be appointed Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah for an indefinite period{ beginning December 11, 1972, at a salary of $12,000.00 per year.
