Park employees Employ V Temporary Par employees At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 p.m. on September 19, 1972, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 p.m., on September 19, 1972, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). _ons Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the examinations for journeyman and master electricials as prepared by the Building & n _ Electrical Inspector of the City of Paducah be received, accepted, approved and filed, and that they become the first examinations to be given as required by the Electricians Licensing Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners on August 29, 1972. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the bid specifications for 1,250 gallon per minute pumping engine fire apparatus as compiled by the Paducah Fire Department, for purchase of two (2) trucks to be acquired in 1973 and 1974, be received; approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the following personnel changes be made: 1. Ray Hack, temporary laborer in the Street Department, be terminated, effective September 18, 1972. 2. The following temporary employees in the Park and Recreation Department be terminated, effective September 6, 1972: Lymon D. Brown, Pool Manager David L. Krouse, Pool Manager William Magunson, Pool Manager Toni Edwina Thomas, Concession Stand Janet Debra Leight, Concession Stand Jennifer Boucher, Concession Stand Sheryl Huff, Concession Stand 3. The following Basket Room Attendants be terminated: Beth Colby Barbara Carvell Diane Carter Dorothy Newborn Betty Rottering Charles W. Medley Sara Catherine Cromwell Carl E. Commissioner-Puryear offered motion, secondedbyCommissioner Lambert, that the letter from the Civic Beautification Board, dated September 10, 1972, requesting that the City's Sanitary landfill site between 9th and 10th Streets bordering on Elizabeth Street be used as a Mini Park, be received and filed. Commissioner Puryear offered motion,- seconded by Commissioner Lambert, tha.t.the claim of W. J. Wilkins' and Kelly Joseph .Wilkins, owner and driver of a .1-96:7 Dodge damaged in the amount of $143.96 due .to a. collision with a city truck. -on September 12, 1972, at.26th and Jackson:Streets, be allowed, and that the City, Trea,s-ur-er be- _ authorized -to pay said, -.,claim after first obtaining a complete and final- release fr-om both parties. Commissioner•,Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, -'that the executed copy of the Contract between the -City of Paducah and -Angels: of- Mercy, Inc. to provide ambulance service for the City for the period of time from September 1972 through December, 1973, be .received and filed. Voor Park" Purchase Buck{ Truck from Paducah Power System t Contract V Sch.impeler, e c Mass Trans- portation study _______ __ City of Paducah September 19, 1972 Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR TWO (2) 1,250 GALLON PER MINUTE PUMPING ENGINES WITH DIESEL ENGINE AND CAB FORWARD OVER ENGINE CHASSIS FOR USE IN THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT, WITH -ONE TO BE DELIVERED IN THE YEAR 1973 AND ONE TO BE DELIVERED IN THE YEAR 1974, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that -a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO JACK O, GRAY, DISTRICT ENGINEER, DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS, 'COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR"TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR A FEDERAL GRANT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF OPEN SPACE LAND IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas„ Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION NAMING THE CITY PARK ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF 12TH AND CLAY STREETS THE 'WILLIAM H. VOOR PARK'", be -adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE BUCKET TRUCK FROM THE PADUCAH POWER SYSTEM FOR THE PRICE OF $3,700.00, CONSISTING OF ONE 1963 FORD F-600 TRUCK WITH HOLAN BUCKET MODEL NO. 41, SERIES 8300", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commis-sioner Harvey, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SCHIMPELER, CORRADINO ASSOCIATES TO PROVIDE THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR A MASS TRANSPORTATION STUDY, AND PROVIDING THE TERMS -AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH CONTRACT SHALL BE MADE", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. ' tape recorders & transcriber 413 September 19 Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that ' an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF McKEOWN OFFICE EQUIPMENT FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF TEN (10) PORTABLE TAPE RECORDERS AND ONE (1) TRANSCRIBER TO BE USED IN THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
