Elder ✓ 407 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe4 in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 5:00 p.m. on September 12, 1972, Mayor Protem Puryear presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert and Mayor Protem Puryear (4), Mayor' -McNutt being absent. Mayor Protem Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held a -t 5:00"p m. on September 12, 1972;"be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert and Mayor Protem Puryear (4)." Mayor Protein Puryear made'the following appointment As Mayor Protem, and at the request of Mayor McNutt, I hereby reappoint Wilbur M. 'Lee to the Paducah Planning Commission for a four (4) year term beginning September 1, 1972, and ending August 31,1 1976, subject 'to the =approval of the Board of Commissioners, so that said Commission shall be composed of the following members: Andrew'S: Wood whose term expires August 31, 1973 Richard A. Williams whose term expires August 31, 1973 Mrs. Irene Keiler whose -term expires August 31, 1974 Charles Clark whose term expires August 31, 1974 H. Eugene Fisher whose term expires August 31, 1975 Robert D. Seay whose term expires August 31, 1975 Wilbur M. Lee whose term expires August 31, 1976 Commis"sioner'Hornsby offered -motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the Board of Commissioners approve the action of Mayor Protem Henry Puryear, reappointing Wilbur M. Lee as a member of the Paducah Planning Commission. Adopted'on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, and_Mayor Protem Puryear'(4), Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the following personnel changes be made: 1. The following persons be employed as temporary part time truck drivers -in the Park Department, at a salary of $2.10 per hour, retroactive to September 5, 1972: Warren Puddy Dwight Warfield 2. The following persons be employed as temporary part-time laborers in the Park Department, at a salary of $2.00 per hour, retroactive to August 29, 1972: Charles Black Freddie Eison 3. The following temporary part-time employees in the Park Department be terminated,, retroactive to August 30, 1972: William Allen Charles E. Drain, Jr. Charles Black Freddie Eison 4. The following persons be employed as temporary collectors in the Refuse Depart- ment, at a salary of $2.50 per hour, retroactive to September 5, 1972: Ralph William Holeman Earl Lynn Gregory Johnny Michael Elder Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert and Mayor Protem Puryear (4). Consolidated TV Cable Service, Inc. Ad -opted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, -Hornsby, -Lambert and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by`Commissioner Harvey, that the Deed of Conveyance dated August 31, 19721 from -Julia B. Voor to the City of Paducah, conveying property at 12th and'Clay Streets -be received, accepted, recorded and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, -Lambert and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) . Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the claim of Harold Jenks in the amount of $49.61 for damage to his 1968 Chevrolet caused ly being struck by a city vehicle be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) . % Commissioner Lambert offer.ed.motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the claim of Taylor Realty Company in the amount of $209.50 for damages caused on May 20, 1972 as the result of sewer blockage be.allowed, and -that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said c-laim after fir-st obtaining a complete and final release,. Adopted on call of the -Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert and Mayor Protem Puryear (4). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the following bids for sale to the City of ten (10) portable tape recorders and one (1) transcriber, be received and filed: McKeown Office Equipment International Business Machines Adopted on call Of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert and Mayor Puryear (4) . Mayor Protem Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the liability insurance policy issued by Meridian Mutual Insurance Company to James Dawson for a period of one year from April 23, 1972, together with Bond in the amount of $1,000, dated July 11, 1972, be -received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert and Mayor Protem Puryear (4). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMENT OF NEW AUTOMOBILE AND TRUCK TIRES Proceedings of Board of Commissioners k City of 409 No.. September 12, 1972 FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME FROM NOVEMBER 1, 1972 TO DECEMBER 31, 1973", be adopted. Accept bid Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an B.& B Const. Co.j Riverfront i ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF B & B CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR Improvements CONSTRUCTION OF PHASE II OF THE PADUCAH RIVERFRONT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZI THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTION", be adopted.
