Cochran & wife Mechanicsburg Addition Employ Shelby White Cave in Finance Employ Temp L Laborers in Pa D.L.Collier James L Corder Keith J Flake 361 At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamborl in the City -Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 p.m. on May 23, 1972, Mayor McNutt 'presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissione�sl Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt '(5). Mayor McNutt offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for May 9 and May 1E 1972 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Garvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Certificate of Insurance issued by National Surety Corporation to the City of Paducah, covering work done by E. J. Roper for the term expiring June 16, 1973, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the bid of Jimar Paving Company, Inc. dated May 22, 1372, for resurfacing of various streets in the City of Paducah, including the raising and resetting of manholes, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the liability,insurance policy issued by The Artna Casualty and Surety Company to Paul Duncan for a period of one year from April 30, 1972, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the Deed from J. M. Cochran and his wife, Katherine Cochran, of Louisville, Kentucky, to the City of Paducah, conveying Lot No. 1 in Block No. 3 of the Mechanicsburg Addition, and dedicating ten feet of said lot adjacent to Cambell Street for the public right- of-way, be received, accepted and filed, said deed being of record in Deed Book 540, page 358, McCracken County Court Clerk's office. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the following personnel changes be made: 1. Shelby White Cave be employed as temporary clerk in the Finance Office, effective May 31, 1973, at a salary of $250.00 per month. 2. The following be employed as temporary laborers in the Park Department, at a salary of $2.00 per hour: David L. Collier, retroactive to May 11, 1972 James Lynn Corder, retroactive to May 17, 1972 Keith Joseph Flake, retroactive to May 22, 1972 Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the following bids for sale to the City of three (3) gravel spreaders for use in the Street Department, be received and filed: West Kentucky Equipment Company James Municipal Equipment, Inc. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the bid of Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc., for furnishing the City's requirement of limestone for the year 1972, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the Certificate of Insurance issued by Grange Mutual Casualty Company to the City of Paduca covering work done by John H. Ham d/b/a Ham Auto Sales and Motors, for the period from November 20, 1971 to November 20, 1972, together with Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 dated May 17, 1972, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A SPONSOR'S ASSURANCE FOR A GRANT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OR IMPROVEMENT OF THE BARKLEY FIELD AIRPORT TO BE ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT 'B' TO THE PROJECT APPLICATION", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO BAIL BONDING PRACTICES IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Pur and Mayor McNutt (4), Commissioner Harvey voted "No". Mayor McNutt made the following appointments: The Board of Commissioners having resolved that the Mayor create a committee to investigate the bail bonding practices in the City of Paducah, and the County Judge having agreed with the Mayor to jointly appoint such investigating committee to investigate not only the City of Paducah but the County of McCracken, NOW THEREFORE, I hereby appoint the following individuals to serve as members of said Committee: Fred Paxton as representative of the Paducah -McCracken Development Council Allan Rhodes as a member of the Greater Paducah Chamber of Commerce H — E.
