Settle claim Gilliam Forrest Flournoy Employ temporary pump operators'y f loodwa l l Temp. laborers Refuse Dept Seasonal laborers Cemetery Athel Sheppard, Parks -square da Terminate - Parks Ronnie Dean Moore John Michael Star City .of April 25, 1972 349 At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 p.m. on April 25, 1972, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commission Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4), Commissioner Harvey being absent. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the reading of the Minutes for April 11 and April 18, 1972 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the claim of Purchase Chrysler -Plymouth, Inc. in the amount of $225.52 for damage to one of its vehicles caused by being struck by a city refuse truck, operated by Robert L. Jones, on March 29, 1971, at 2035 South Beltline, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion,seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the claim of William Forrest Flournoy in the amount of $552.01 for damages to his automobi which was struck by a police cruiser operated by Patrolman Abernathy, on April 16, 197 at the intersection of 27th and Park Avenue, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release, Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the following personnel changes be made: /2 The following be employed as temporary pump operators in the Floodwall Department retora.ctive to April 18,.1972 at a salary of $2.00 per hour: George W. The following be employed as seasonal laborers in the Cemetery Department,_.at a salary of $2.00 per hour, effective April 25, 1972: Dennis Seratt Darrell Wayne Southern Morris Stanley Finley 4. The following temporary laborers in the park department be terminated: Ronnie Dean Moore, effective April 14, 1972 John Michael Starks, effective April 17, 1972 5. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Kay Uniforms, Inc., for sale to the city of uniforms for the Paducah Police Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTI FOR BIDS FOR TWO (2) NEW 1972 ONE-HALF TON PICK-UP TRUCKS FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZIN3 THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE FULL -TYPE SWEEPER FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a: resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS F THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1972 STATION WAGON FOR USE BY THE PARKS DIRECTOR, AND PRESCRIB T - THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", -he adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THREE GRAVEL SPREADERS FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE 'PERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of he Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4). Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR TWO (2) 1972 DUMP TRUCKS WITH CAB AND CHASSIS FOR USE'IN"'THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be'adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-49 (a) AND (b) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yea Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4). / Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF CENTRAL PAVING COMPANY) INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIS IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE MECHANICSBURG CODE ENFORCEMENT AREA, CONTRACT NO. 1, PROJECT NO. ,KY -E-2, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECU24IVE DIREC .OR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTION", be introduced and remain -on file for at -least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be: -put upon its f ina 1 passage.
