HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/28/72No. 336 Proceedings of Board of Comm ssiQners_ City of Paducah March -28, 1972 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on March 28, 1972, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the reading of the Minutes for March 21, 1972 be waiver and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). File bids Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner. Hornsby, that the Brushchipper following bids for sale to the City of one brushchipper for use in the Public. Works Department, be received and filed: Easley Equipment Company, Inc. Rudd Construction Equipment Company, Inc. Torco Equipment Company Yale Industrial Trucks -Tri -City Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Promotions Mayor McNutt (5). in Fire Dept H. Alexander Commissioner Hornsby offered notion, seconded by Commissioner.Harvey, as follows: to Captain IV/' Upon the recommendation of the City Manager, I move that the following personnel change E. Wooten to Captain be made: G. Stewart ✓ 1. Harlan Alexander, lieutenant in the Fire Department, be promoted to Captain to Lieut. in said department; effective April 10, 1972. Gerald Pugh 2. Eugene Wooten, lieutenant in the Fire Department, be promoted to Captain in said to Lieut. V, department, effective April 3, 1972. 3. Gerald Stewart, private in the Fire Department, be promoted to Lieutenant in said department, effective April 3, 1972. 4. Gerald Pugh, private in the Fire Department, be promoted to lieutenant in said department, effective April 10, 1972. _ Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . ►Sewer tap -on Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, as follows: permit Earl/ Penix 2328 I move that a letter from Earl Penix pertaining to a sewer tap -on for his residence at Elmwood Ave - - - 2328 Elmwood Avenue be received and filed, and I further move that the offer contained in said letter be accepted and that the City issue a sewer tap -on permit upon receipt of payment in the sum of $750.00. Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of March, 1972, be received and filed. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the Certificate of Insurance issued by National surety Corporation to the City of Paducah, covering work done by Leslie A. Feast Construction Company, Inc. for a period expiring January 1, 1973, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that a letter from Clifton Goin pertaining to a sewer tap -on for his residence at 2318 Elmwood Avenue be received and filed, and that the offer contained in said letter be accepted, and that the City issue a sewer tap -on` -permit upon --receipt of -payment of the sum of $750.00. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner -Harvey., that,a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR A FEDERAL GRANT TO DEVELOP OPEN -SPACE LAND IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, UNDER THE LEGACY OF PARKS PROGRAM", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commission- ers Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). ��.. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FOR SEWAGE TREATMENT WORK", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ' ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE RECITING THE NEED FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN .LAND FOR A SANITARY SEWER EASEMENT TO SERVICE LOURDES HOSPITAL, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PA' OF THE PROPERTY TO BE ACQUIRED BY THE GRANTING OF TAP -ON RIGHTS", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KAY UNIFORMS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS FOR THE YEAR 1972, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY; MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. FOR'THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE BRUSHCHIPPER FOR USE IN THE -PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT,, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection -in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF HOWE FIRE APPARATUS COMPANY, INC. POR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) 1000 GALLON PER MINUTE PUMPING ENGINE FOR USE IN THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
