AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE REVIEW OF
THE STRUCTURAL DISTRESS IN THE CITY HALL ROOF, TO INVESTIGATE THE
OPTIONS FOR SEISMIC RETROFIT OF THE SAME, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CHIEF
BUILDING INSPECTOR TO EXPEND FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THE
CITY HALL STRUCTURE STUDY PROJECT BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City has a need for planning services necessary for the City Hall
Structural Evaluation; and
WHEREAS, Apex Engineering, Inc., has in its employ persons experienced in this
area of expertise.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an agreement
between the City of Paducah and Apex Engineering for professional engineering services for the
city hall structural evaluation. Rates are as attached per the 2008 Apex Engineering Rate
Schedule.
SECTION 2. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Chief Building
Inspector to expend funds in an amount not to exceed the City Hall Structure Study Project
budget.

SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged through Project Account PF -
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
