HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/06/75Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah , Kentucky , at 4: 30 p. m. , on November 6, 1976, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) , Commissioner Coleman was absent. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 p.m., on November 6, 1975, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the executed copy of Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the Municipal Aid Contract between the Bureau of Highways and the City of Paducah, Kentucky for the Fiscal Year 1975-1976, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the bid submitted by Allan Rhodes, Inc. for sale to the City of ten (10) 1976 automobiles for use by the Paducah Police Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Brumley offered .motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the Board of Commissioners receive and file a copy of the budget prepared by J. William Howerton, City Manager, for the period from July 1, 1975 through June 30, 1976, and he further moved that copies of the budget, which have been printed, be made available for distribution, and that a public hearing on said budget be held at the meeting of the Board of Commissioners No. 487 November 6, 1975 to be held .at 4: 30 p.m., on November 10, 1975. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby., Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner .Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that upon recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made: 1. Leona Shelby, Assessor in the Finance Department,, be reclassified as Evaluation Clerk in the Inspection Department, at a salary of $600.00 per month, effective November 10, 1975. 2. The resignation of Carol Alford, clerk -typist in the Finance Department, be accepted, effective November 17, 1975. 3. The following be temporarily employed as gym supervisors in the Parks and Recreation Department, at a salary of ,$15.00 per, session, retroactive to Nov. 3, 1975: Bill Sanders Jim Petty Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the bid submitted by Allan Rhodes, Inc. for sale to the City of one (1) 1976 automobile to be used by the Chief of the Paducah Fire Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3), Commissioner Brumley voted "No". Sub -section 40.023 Amend ordinance changing Fiscal Year fixing date for payment of taxes, etc. City of Paducah No. November 6. 1975 Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that V ' the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Cosmopolitan Mortuary of the Northeast corner of Lot No. 305 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 4949) , and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Bond of W. D. Vinson, d/b/a Vinson Plumbing, in the amount of $1, 000.00, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the claim of Carl Hickerson in the amount of $175.00 for damage to his 1968 Chevrolet automobile, caused when struck by a police car driven by Assistant Chief Leon Hoskins, on October 14, 1975 at 311 North Third Street, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Com- missioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and J. R. Sullivan's Lawn and Garden Equipment Company, for sale to the city of a Yazoo mower for use by the Parks and Recreation Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SUB -SECTION 40.023 'AMORTIZATION OF NON- CONFORMING JUNK YARDS' OF SECTION 40 , ARTICLE IV OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 AND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 75-9-1172 ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE FISCAL YEAR OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY, FIXING THE DATE OF THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY, FIXING THE DUE AND DELINQUENCY DATES OF CITY TAXES , FIXING THE DATE OF THE ANNUAL TAX SALE BY THE TREASURER, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, AND CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY PROVISION', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH ON SEPTEMBER 23, 197511, be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . On motion the meeting adjourned. ADOPTED ✓' Z-�� 1975 APPROVED Mayor City Clerk
