At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 p.m., on October 21, 1975, Mayor Protem Puryear
presided in the absence of Mayor McNutt and upon call of the Roll the following answered to
their names: Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Mayor Protem Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 P.M., on October 21, 1975, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby
and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the
Summary -of income and expenses submitted by the Kelley Transportation Company, Inc. for bus
service within the City of Paducah for the month of September, 1975, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley. Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem
Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the
Paducah Cable Communications Authority Rules and Procedures Manual, dated September 25, 1975 ,
be received, filed and approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley,
Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the
following be employed as policemen in the Paducah Police Department, at a salary of $625.00 per
month,, effective November 10 , 1975, provided that by such time they furnish at their own expense,
a satisfactory medical report as to their physical condition including an electrocardiogram and
back X-rays:
Ken Alexander at 8: 00 a.m.
Joe Hall at 8: 01 a.m.
Wendell Simms at 8: 02 a.m.
Gary Harrod at 8: 03 a.m.
Terry Wilford at 8: 04 a.m.

Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the
Certificate of Insurance issued by the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to LaVerne
Littleton, d/b/a Littleton Plumbing & Heating Repair Service, for a period of one year from
November 1, 1975, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF NINE (9) 1976 FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILES TO BE USED AS PATROL
VEHICLES FOR THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND ONE (1) 1976 FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILE

TO BE USED BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE" , 'be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll , Yeas ,
Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) 1976 MODEL FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILE FOR USE BY THE
CHIEF OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT" , be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (3) , Commissioner Brumley voted
"No".
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that an

ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF RUDD-WOODALL MOTOR SALES FOR
SALE TO THE CITY -OF ONE (1) PICKUP TRUCK FOR USE BY THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE",
be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby,
and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley,, that
an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF RUDD-WOODALL MOTOR SALES
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) COMPACT AUTOMOBILE FOR USE BY THE DIRECTOR OF
PUBLIC SERVICES , AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH
PURCHASE" , be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,
Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .

ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF SHELTON FORD TRACTOR FOR SALE
TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) RUBBER TIRED TRACTOR FOR USE BY THE PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH
PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,
Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ALLAN RHODES, INC. FOR SALE TO
THE CITY OF ONE (1) STATION WAGON FOR USE BY THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT ,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE",
be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby
and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Mayor Protem Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF J. R. SULLIVAN'S LAWN & GARDEN
EQUIPMENT FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) RIDING MOWER FOR USE BY THE PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
