Amend contract with Bureau of Highways, maintenance etc. certain streets Amend Noncivil Service Ordinance, Section 2-47 increase number of Code Enforcement Officers No. October 7, 1975 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4: 30 p.m. , on October 7, 1975, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll ' the following 'answered to their name's:.. Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) , Commissioner Brumley was absent when the meeting was "called to Order, but arrived later Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies' of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 p.m. , 'on October 7, 1975, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman. Hornsby,, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion; seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that upon recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made: ­ The" following temporary employees in'the Parks and Recreation Department be terminated, retroactive to October 6, 1975: Michael Wallis Israel Ruiz 2. Craig Clymer, temporary truck driver in the Street Department, be terminated, retroactive to August 25 , 1975. 3. The resignation of Carolyn Bunger , part-time stenographer in the Parks and Recreation Department, be accepted," effective October W. 1975. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) Commissioner Puryear offered motion , seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the letter from Hon. Victor Yaffe, Attorney for Normandy Manufacturing Company,, Inc. , requesting an exemption for Normandy Manufacturing Company, Inc. from the payment of certain city taxes for a period of five years , pursuant to the provisions of KRS 92.300 (1) , be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AMENDMENT OF THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND THE BUREAU OF HIGHWAYS, COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1975" , be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-47 'NONCIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES GENERALLY' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) At this point Commissioner Brumley arrived at the meeting. Purchase property 9th & ' Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an Harrison ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE FROM MILDRED TERRELL WERNER , A SINGLE PERSON, AND MARGIE TERRELL LANGSTAFF AND HER HUSBAND, SAMUEL H. LANGSTAFF, JR. , OF PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF 9TH AND HARRISON STREETS , FOR THE SUM OF $10, 000.00" , be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah October 7, 1975 Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION RESPECTING THE REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED ON BROAD STREET FROM BRIDGE STREET TO BROWN STREET, AND AMENDING THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE -1971 SO AS TO EFFECT SUCH REZONING", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby,, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE EXEMPTING NORMANDY MANUFACTURING COMPANY, INC. FROM THE PAYMENT OF CERTAIN CITY TAXES FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS", be adopted. Adopted, on call of the Roll, Yeas , Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF GRESHAM & KERR , JOHN KEELING ASSOCIATES FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES RELATING TO 'TOWNLIFT' AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH SERVICES" , be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll. Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby. Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . The Board conducted a hearing on the grievances filed by Gary Jackson and Rex Stapleton. At the conclusion of the hearing it was the majority opinion of the Board of Commissioners that there existed just cause for the termination of the employment of Gary Jackson and Rex Stapleton and that their grievances should be , and are , denied . On motion the meeting adjourned.
