At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7: 30 p. m. , on August 12, 1975 , Mayor McNutt presided
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley,
Coleman, Hornsby , Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the reading
of the Minutes for July 22 , 29 and August 5 , 1975 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings
prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that upon
recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made:
1. Charles Cody, temporary laborer in the Cemetery Department, be terminated
retroactive to August 5, 1975.
2. Harold Cornwell, temporary laborer in the Street Department, be terminated,
retroactive to July 29, 1975.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Hamock Funeral Home of the
Southeast corner of Lot No. 285 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery
for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 4908) , and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed
of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley,
Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that
the following bids for repair of the Jaycee Civic Center roof, be received and filed:
Mangrum Roofing Company, Inc.
Hannin Roofing
Industrial Sheet Metal
Lambert Roofing Company
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Hamock Funeral Home of the
Northwest corner of Lot No. 286 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery
for the sum of $100.00, (Receipt No. 4911) and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a
deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear , that the
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mrs. Goldie Davis of the
Northwest corner of Lot No. 123 in Block No. 9 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery

for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 4907) , and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed
of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
Certificate of Insurance issued by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company to the City of
Paducah,, covering work done by Gene Grief & Sons,, Inc. for a period of one year from July 1, 1975,
be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley,
Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a
copy of the Resolution adopted by the Electric Plant Board of July 23, 1975, pertaining to the
Schedule of Rates and Charges, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Fire Equipment Service Company
for sale to the City of one air compressor, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion. seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE (1) MOTOR GRADER FOR USE BY THE STREET
DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman,
that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MANGRUM ROOFING COMPANY ,
INC. IN THE BASE BID AMOUNT OF $9,875. 00 FOR ROOF REPAIRS TO THE PADUCAH-JAYCEE
CIVIC CENTER, 2701 PARK AVENUE, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection
for one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on
call of the Roll , Yeas , Commissioners Brumley , Coleman , Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY
TREASURER TO PAY THE SUM OF $49129.38 TO SAMUEL TAYLOR FOR FULL AND COMPLETE
SETTLEMENT OF ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE LAWSUIT ENTITLED SAMUEL TAYLOR VS.
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, ET AL", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF SANCO CORPORATION FOR SALE TO
THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF A NEW 1974 MODEL G. M. C. FRONT LOADING REFUSE TRUCK, PLUS
A WASHOUT TANK ACCESSORY, FOR USE BY THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE" , be adopted. Adopted on call

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ALLAN RHODES, INC. , FOR SALE TO
THE CITY OF ONE 1975 FORD CUSTOM AND ONE 1975 MAVERICK TO BE USED BY THE INSPECTION
DEPARTMENT , AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH
PURCHASE" , be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,
Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
On motion the meeting adjourned.
