HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/25/75Proceedings of Board of Commissioners Chy of Paducah No. February 25, 1974 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7: 30 p.m., on February 25, 1975, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the reading of the Minutes for February 11 and 18, 1975 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: Terry Bell -civil service 1. Terry Bell, truck driver in the Street Department, be placed under civil service Troy Ligon - civil service for such position, retroactive to February 3, 1975. 2. Troy Ligon, maintenance man #2 in the Parks & Recreation Department, be placed under civil service for such position, retroactive to February 17, 1975. Temporary floodwall pump operators 3. The following be employed as temporary pump operators in the Floodwall Department, Effective February 25, 1975, at a salary of $2.10 per hour: Michael Wayne Robertson J. R. Adams Michael Wayne Robertson Douglas Franklin Ford J. R. Adams Tommie A. Taylor Douglas Franklin Ford Harry Crittenden, Jr. Tommie A. Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, as follows: .i File and publish Audit V Report for 1974 I move that the Audit Report of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, prepared by Allen & Barnett, Certified Public Accountants, for the year ended December 31, 1974, be received and filed, and that the City Treasurer be directed to publish a condensed form of said Audit Report. I further move that the Accountants' Report, Financial Statements and Supplementary File Auditor's report on Federal Revenue Sharing Data of the Revenue Sharing Funds for the year ended December 31, 1974, prepared by said Funds Accountants, be received and filed. Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the Report of Kelly Trans portation Company for Summary of Income and expenses submitted by the Kelley Transportation Company, Inc. for January , 1975 bus service within the City of Paducah for the month of January, 1975, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that Sell graves in Oak Grove to Charles M. McCune the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Charles M. McCune of a parcel of ground, 8 x 8 feet, out of the southwest corner of Lot No. 91 in Section 6 of Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $200.00 (Receipt Nos. 1643 and 1656) , and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Proceedings of Board of Commissioners No. City of Paducah February 25, 1975 Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the following bids for sale to the City of a mini backhoe end loader, be received and filed: The Terramite Corporation Van Sickle Tractor Sales and Service Company Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Hamock Funeral Home of the Northwest corner of Lot No. 293 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00, (Receipt No. 1655) , and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mundy Funeral Home of the Southeast corner of Lot No. 327 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 1657) , and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyancy to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WEST KENTUCKY EQUIPMENT COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF VARIOUS PARTS TO BE USED IN THE REPAIR OF THE CITY'S CASE 1150 TRACK LOADER, FOR THE SUM OF $2,885.2611, be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION 25-15 'COMMUNICATIONS CLERK - POSITION CREATED'; SECTION 25-16 'SAME - DUTIES'; SECTION 25-17 'SAME - SUPERVISION'; SECTION 25-18 'SAME - NOT MEMBER OF DEPARTMENT OR ENTITLED TO CIVIL SERVICE BENEFITS; REMOVAL'; AND SECTION 25-19 'SAME - SALARY' , OF CHAPTER 25. 'POLICE', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ALLAN RHODES, INC. FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) 1975 FORD MAVERICK TO BE USED BY THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ROTARY POWER, INC. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF VAN SICKLE TRACTOR SALES AND SERVICE COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE (1) MINI BACKHOE END LOADER TO BE USED BY THE CEMETERY DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas , Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE APPORTIONMENT OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 1, 1975 THROUGH JUNE 30, 1975, AND APPROPRIATING THE PUBLIC REVENUE AND INCOME OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR SUCH PURPOSE", be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY TREASURER TO PAY TO THE PADUCAH-McCRACKEN COUNTY BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION A SUM NOT TO EXCEED $2,407.67 FOR EXPENSES INCURRED DURING THE 1974 BICENTENNIAL PROGRAM", be adopted.
