Morgan resignation Board of Park Commissioners Insurance Policy for 323 No 9th St. - Curtis Grace No. City of Paducah January 21. 1975 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4: 30 p.m. , on January 21, 1975, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4), Commissioner Brumley was absent. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 30 p.m. , on January 21, 1975, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: 1. James C. Golden be employed as a truck driver in the Street Department at a salary of $3.21 per hour, retroactive to January 14, 1975. 2. Gary W. Woods be employed as a refuse collector in the Refuse Department at a salary of $2.98 per hour, effective January 21, 1975. 3. Terry L. Bell, refuse collector in the Refuse Department, be promoted to truck driver in the Street Department at a salary of $3.21 per hour, retroactive to January 20, 1975. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, I move that Burke Terrell be employed as Assistant Corporation Counsel, at a monthly salary of $500.00 , effective Monday, January 27, 1975. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the claim of Mrs. Barbara Casper, on behalf of her minor son, Don Block, in the amount of $200.00 for merchandise inadvertently taken from her residence at 4343 St. Charles Court by a refuse collector of the City of Paducah on December 28, 1974, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the resignation of Ronald L. Morgan as a member of the Board of Park Commissioners, effective January 17, 1975, be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance of The Celina Mutual Insurance Company, policy number IKFP148-144, insuring the premises known as 323 North 9th Street, Paducah, Kentucky, in the amount of $10,000.00 as acquired by Mr. Curtis L. Grace, be received and approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Proceedings of Board of Commissioners No. City of Paducah January 21, 1975 Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mundy Funeral Home of the northeast corner of Lot No. 289 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 1637) , and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mundy Funeral Home of the northwest corner of Lot No. 289 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 1638), and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the attached documents from Conrad Heights Treatment Plant, Inc . , M. H. Conrad and Virginia C. Conrad, pertaining to an extension of Conrad Heights Treatment Plant, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) .I Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the bid of The B. F. Goodrich Company for sale to the City of tires and tubes for the year 1975, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the actuarial report of the Police and Firemen's Retirement Fund, dated July 1, 1974 and prepared by Meidinger and Associates, Inc., be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copy of the Option to Lease, dated January 7, 1975, between the Southside Kiwanis Club of Paducah, Kentucky, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, pertaining to Fire Station No. 2 located in Kolb Park, be received and filed. Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a copy of the resolution adopted by the Electric Plant Board amending a resolution previously adopted recommending the appointment of Certified Public Accountants to audit the records of the Electric Plant Board, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , IN BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , TO REQUEST AN ADVANCE OF FUNDS PURSUANT TO SUB -PAR 570.302 'ADVANCE OF FUNDS AND AUTHORIZATION TO INCUR COSTS' OF TITLE 24 OF THE CODE FEDERAL REGULATIONS AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER V, PART 570 'COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANTS"', be adopted. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION SELECTING AND DESIGNATING ALLEN AND BARNETT , CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO AUDIT THE RECORDS OF THE ELECTRIC PLANT BOARD OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FROM JULY 1, 1974 TO JUNE 30,197511, be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF FOUR (4) PICKUP TRUCKS TO BE USED BY THE MAINTENANCE, REFUSE AND PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENTS, AND PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE SUBMITTED" , be adopted. Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH COMMUNITY PROGRAM CONSULTANTS, INC . , FOR ASSISTANCE IN RESEARCH, DOCU- MENTATION AND PREPARATION OF AN APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER TITLE I OF THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974f1, be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE BASE STATION WITH TONE ENCODING EQUIPMENT AND ASSOCIATED REMOTE CONTROL EQUIPMENT TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH CIVIL DEFENSE SYSTEM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT WITH WILKINS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. DATED JULY 10, 1974, FOR PURPOSES OF CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE CURDS, GUTTERS, SIDEWALKS AND DRIVE APRONS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH , TO AND INCLUDING JUNE 30, 1975 , AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS PERTAINING THERETO", be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
