HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/11/73Proceedings of_ Board, of Commissioners_ - city of Paducah December 11, 1973 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber P in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7: 30 p.m. on December 11, 1973, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:Commissioners Harvey; Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the reading of the Minutes for November 27 and December 4, 19'73, be waived and that the '1Vlinutes of said meetings' prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of µthe Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor -McNutt (5) Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made: Resignation David L Beye 1. The resignation of David L. Beyer, patrolman in the Paducah Police Department, Resignation Larry A. Bi File bid Gulf Oil Corp File report c Planning Co Rezoning No. 10th St. Liab . Ins. & Bond of Treehouse Development Corporation Sell graves Mausoleum Ai Mrs. John C Farley V J be accepted, effective January 6, 1974. 2. The resignation of Larry A. Butler, laborer in the Street Department, be accepted, effective December 7, 1973. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the bid submitted by Gulf Oil Corporation for sale to the City of petroleum products for the year 1974, be received and filed. -Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the report of the Paducah Planning Commission setting forth its reasons for recommending the rezoning property ofon North 10th Street between Burnett and Flournoy Streets , be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the Certificate of Insurance issued by Zurich Insurance Company to Treehouse Development Corporation for a period expiring March 21, 1974, together with Bond in the amount of $1,000, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mrs. John C. Farley of a tract of ground 8 x 10 feet, located in the southwest corner of Lot No. 13 in Section No. 3 of the Mausoleum Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $500.00 (Oftceipt No. 14854) , and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery graves. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby `Lambert , Puryear and Mayor -McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled -"AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF HARPER &-ARTERBURN, INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SWIMMING POOL AND" -BATH HOUSE TO BE -LOCATED IN BLACKBURN PARK, AND AUTHORIZING' THE CITY?MANAGER'T0 EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR'SU'CII PURCHASE", be introduced and remain 'on' ffle' for at least one.
