Opr "A" Clifton Garland No. Maintenance Man & OSHA Ubspector Basketball InstrL Park Department 147 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in•the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4: 30 p.m. on October 30, 1973, Mayor -McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their named: Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 30.p.m.,on October 30, 1973, be received and filed: Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: 1. Doug Harrall be employed as temporary laborer in the Maintenance Department. at a salary of.$2.00 per hour, retroactive to October 29,, 1973. 2. Howard E. Johnson be employed as inspector in the Inspection Department, at a salary of $560.00 per month, effective November 5, 1973. 3. ..The. following firefighters in the Paducah, Fire Department.be promoted to lieutenants in said department, effective' November `12; 1973: Merritt Scott Freddie Cooper Lenol Krone Kenneth Meeks Donald Watson Gladman Humbles 4. The following lieutenants in .the ,Paducah Fire Department be promoted to Captains in said department, effective November 12, 1973: Fred Kolb Harmon Murphy_ James Leneave' 5. The following applicant -candidates in the Paducah Fire Department having satisfactorily completed the 60 day training period as such applicant -candidates . as provided by ordinance, they are hereby appointed firefighters in said depart- ment, at a salary of $530.00 per month, effective November 12, 1973: Wayne Ray _Ryan, at 6:40 a.m. Jerry D. James Shaw be reclassified' from equipment operator B in the Refuse Department to equipment operator A in said department, effective_ November 12,. 1973,,at_ a salary of"$3.41 per hour' , 7. Clifton Garland, No. 1 Maintenance Man in the -Maintenance Department, be re classified as No. 1 Maintenance Man. - OSHA Inspector_ , at a base hourly wage of ' 56 per hour, effective November 12, 1973. 8. The 'following be employed as basketball instructors in the Parks Department effective November 5, 1973, at a salary of $15.00. per session: B. T. Settle claim Alfred Chat Street, protesting the use of the property at,1904,Kentucky Avenue. as., a., "Half -,way" house, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, yeas, Commissioners, -.Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert., Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5)-. _ Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by -,.Commissioner .Lambert, that the claim of Alfred Chapman in the amount of.$1-32..50 for damage to his automobile as a result of being struck by a car driven by a City Housing Inspector at 5th & Jefferson Streets on October 25, 1973, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized.to pay said claim after 'first obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Bill Shelton be employed as Church Basketball Instructor for the Parks ball Instructor Department, effective November 5, 1973, at a salary of $2.25 per hour. Samuel Hargro e/ 10. Samuel Hargrove be employed as Guitar Instructor for the Park Department, Guitar Instr. V retroactive to October 22, 1973, at a salary of $7.00 per session. Henry C Hodgc 3 11. Henry C. Hodges, foreman in the Street Department,. be reclassified as night Night Foreman ✓ foreman in said department, at a base salary of $670.00 per month, effective November 5, 1973. his L. C. Chism Sewer ma 12. L. C. Chism , a sewer maintenance man in the Street Department be, reclassified and promoted to sewer foreman, at a base salary of $635.00 per month, effective November 5, 1973. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) Liability Ins Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, B & H Plumbin Service that the Certificate of Insurance issued by Aetna Life & Casualty to the City of. Paducah, covering work done by B & H Plumbing Service, for a period of one year from October 14 ; 1973, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, ,Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . - Commissioner Hornsby offered motion,, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, Liability Ins. Littleton Plb . & that the Certificate of Insurance issued .by The Fidelity. and Casualty Company of. New York Heating Repair Service to LaVerne Littleton d/b/a Littleton Plumbing & Heating Repair Service and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from November 1, 1973,_be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll., Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) Settlement Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that Sewer & Refuse October 1973 the reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of October,. 1973., be received and filed. Petition Half -way Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, House 1904 Ky. Mayor_ McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SWIMMING POOL AND BATHHOUSE TO BE LOCATED AT BLACKBURN PARK IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH A CONTRACT MAY BE LET", be adopted. Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-52 'STREET DEPARTMENT - GENERALLY' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY CREATING THE NEW POSITION OF 'NIGHT FOREMAN"', be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commission- ers Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 10-52 (a) , ' STREET DEPARTMENT - GENERALLY', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-61 (a) 'UNASSIGNED POSITIONS', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, ABOLISHING THE POSITION OF 'NO. 1 MAINTENANCE MAN', AND CREATING THE NEW POSITION OF 'NO. 1 MAINTENANCE MAN -OSHA INSPECTOR"', be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-53 (a) 'REFUSE DEPARTMENT' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY ABOLISHING ONE POSITION OF EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 'B', AND CREATING THE NEW POSITION OF EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 'A"', be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 2-47 (a) "NON -CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES GENERALLY' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted.
