Paducah,, Kentucky, ,at 7:30 R.m. , on October 23, 1973, Mayor McNuttpresided Louise Hovekamp as Sewing Instructor, at a salary of $7.00 per session, retroactive to October 16, 1973. and upon call of the Roll, the following answered to,their names:,. Commissioners Hornsby, _ Lambert, Puryear and -Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Harvey being absent,. Mayor McNutt offered. motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the reading of the Minutes for October 9 and 16, 1973 be waived, and that. the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the,Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt -(4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion., seconded by Commissioner.Lambert, that the Settle claim claim of James Clement, in the amount of _$35.00,for damage caused by a refuse vehicle backing James Clement over a_ chain link fence at 1201.North 13th Street on September 13, 1973, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a_ complete_ and final release. Chamdler Continuation Certificate of Western Surety Company,_,exte.nding the bond of V. L. Chandler for Extend a period; -of _one year from October 29, 1973, _be received,.,approved and filed. Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, the following_ personnel changes be made: 1. _ The following truck drivers in_the Street Department be placed under Civil Service j Civil Service for such position, effective October 29, 1973: Thomas Schnu David J Adams Thomas Schnuck , at 7: 00 a . m . St. Dept. David J, Adams, at 7,: 05.a.m Civil Service 2. Thomas Keeling, maintenance.. supervisor in the Parks Department, be.placed under Thomas Keeling Civil Service for such position, retroactive to August 6, 1973. 11 ? Civil Service3. Iley Martin Gossett, maintenance helper in the Maintenance Department, be placed I.M.Gossett under Civil Service for such position, effective October 29, .1973. Civil Service 4. William Tolley, collector in the Refuse Department, be placed under Civil Service for William Tolley such position, effective October 29, 1973. James C Turnei 5. James Clay Turner- be- as Applicant -Candidate in the Fire Department, Applicant- effective November 5, 1973, provided by such time he furnishes, at his expense, a Candidate satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition, including an electrocardio - Fire Dept. gram and all back X-rays. Hayden William Hayden as Judo Instructor, at a salary of $7.00 per session, retroactive to Affnold Hearon October 9, 1973. Louise Hoveka Arnold Hearon as Square Dance Instructor, at a salary of $7.00 per session, retroactive to October 22, 1973. Louise Hovekamp as Sewing Instructor, at a salary of $7.00 per session, retroactive to October 16, 1973. Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner" Puryear, that the report "of the Paducah Planning"Commission" setting forth its reason for denying the application of Ed Hough and Hal Brown for rezoning" of certain property on'North "32nd- Street:, be received, "filed and appro,�red . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded -by "commissioner Lambert, that the claim of Bobby Miles, in the amount of $1,000.00 fordamage sustained to his 1973 Volkswagen automobile as a result of it being struck by a police cruiser driven by Officer David L. Beyer. on Joe Clifton Drive, on September 28, 1973, be approved, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the Bond of Tilford Plumbing & Heating, Inc., issued by St. Paul Fire and Marine 'Insurance Company, in the amount of $2,000.00, effective November 28, 1973, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the report of the Paducah Planning Commission setting forth its reason for approving the application of Richard Smith for rezoning property at 13th and Madison Streets, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copy of the Agreement, dated October 19, 1973, between Community Program Consultants, Inc. and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for consulting services in the preparation of an Economic Development Plan for the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR REIMBURSEMENT GRANT, PURSUANT TO PUBLIC LAW 92-500, FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) .. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $50, 000.00 FROM THE a SEWER DEPRECIATION AND EXTENSION FUND TO 'EDA PROJECT NO. 04-01-01009 ACCOUNT". be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . THE REZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERTY .LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF 13TH AN,D'MADISON STREETS, AND AMENDING,THE PADUCAH ZONING %14'h19,1QD AS TO EFFECT SUCH REZONING", be adopted.
