Appoint Frank Brown, to Water Board Approve Frank Brown J to Water Board Appoint Advisory Committee on Aging I� City of Paducah CnntAmhar 25,-M-3— At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7: 30 p.m., on September 25, 1973, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) , Commissioners Harvey and Hornsby being absent. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the reading of the Minutes for September 11 and 18th, 1973 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) . Mayor McNutt made the following appointment: James T. Cartwright having resigned as a member of the Commissioners of Water Works', I hereby , subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, appoint Frank Brown, Jr. to fill the unexpired term of the said James T. Cartwright, so that said Commission shall be composed of the following members: Charles A. Wahl, whose term expires January 6, 1974 Robert C. Morrow, whose term expires January 6, 1975 W. W. Dyer, Sr., whose term expires January 12, 1975 Frank Brown, Jr., whose term expires January 6, 1976 Lee Livingston for an indefinite term Mayor Alice H. McNutt, Ex -officio Member Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the Board of Commissioners approve the action of Mayor Alice H. McNutt appointing Frank Brown, Jr. a member of the Commissioners of Water Works. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) . Mayor McNutt made the following appointments: The terms of office of Rev. Robert A. Hill, Dr. E. W. Whiteside, Mrs. Josephine Kelley, Mrs. L. G. Marberry, , Mrs. Eugene Butler and Mrs. Schultz Riggs as members of the Advisory Committee on Aging having, expired on December 1, 1972, I hereby, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, reappoint Rev. Robert A. Hill, Dr. E. W Whiteside , Mrs. Josephine Kelley, Mrs. L. G. Marberry, , and Mrs. Schultz Riggs and appoint Mrs. Ethel Stamper as members of said Committee for two year terms from December 1, 1972, so that said membersand their terms of office shall be as follows: Mrs. Perce Clement whose term will expire December 1, 1973 Mrs. A. G. Lowe whose term will expire December 1, 1973 Carl Marquess whose term will expire December 1, 1973 Mrs. Agnes Bohanon whose term will expire December 1, 1973 Robert E. Kersey whose term will expire December 1, 1973 H. W. Sledd whose term will expire December 1, 1973 Rev. Robert A. Hill whose term wll expire December 1, 1974 Dr. E. W. McNutt ,appointing members of the Advisory -Committee on Aging, - be approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert Puryear and Mayor - McNutt (3).,, Commissioner Lambert offered the following motion seconded by Commissioner Puryear. Upon.the recommendation-ofthe City Manager, I move that the following7 personnel changes be. -made: - 1. Dexter. Martin, .collector in the Refuse Department, be terminated, retroactive to September 21, 1973. 2. William Seibert be employed as collector in the Refuse Department, at a salary of $2.68 per hour;. retroactive -to September 3. Lonnie Gene Roberts be employed as temporary laborer in the Maintenance=Department; at a salary of $2.00 per hour, effective October 1, 1973. T Cartwright -as- a member of the., Commissioners of- Water- Works -be - received, filed: and accepted: - Adopted on call of the Roll," Yeas,, Commissioners Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) . / Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded -by Commissioner, Puryear, that the Deed -of Dedication dated -May 2.9, 19739 from Housing Authority of Paducah, dedicating certain property on Vasseur. Avenue in Paducah, .Kentucky, for public purposes, which deed has-been - recorded. in Deed Book 552, .page 627. in the McCracken County Court Clerk's office, be -received and filed; and further move that such dedication be,- and the same is. hereby; accepted by:the City of Paducah. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, 'Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) . Commissioner Lambert offered motion, "seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a copy of the Major Thoroughfare Plan, together with a Summary Report of said Plan, dated August, 1973, prepared by Harland Bartholomew and Associates, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt- (3). - Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that Alice H. McNutt, Mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be authorized to sign, on behalf of the City, an "Application for Workable Program Recertification", same to be forwarded to the Depart- ment of Housing and Urban Development, and that a copy of same be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and West Kentucky Roofing and Heating Company for construction and installation of a security fence at the City of Paducah Landfill, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) . City of PaducaSOMO �L51973 Commissipner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the claim of Kathern Farmer 'Dickinson in the amount of $110:00, for damage to her 1972 Ford Pinto caused by a raised- manhole on Metcalf -Lane near its intersection with Highway 60, on September 18, 1973, be approved, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, 'Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, 'seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the report of the Paducah Planning Commission setting for its reasons for denying the application of Home Federal Savings & Loans and Western Rivers Agency for rezoning property located at 1574, 1600 and 1612 Jefferson Street from R-1, Low/Medium Density Residential Zone to R-4, High Density Residential Zone, be received, filed and approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that a copy of the Resolution `adopted by'the Paducah Planning Commission on September 17, 1973, endorsing the planned extension of Yeiser Street; Third Street; Clay Street and Park Avenue, be received and filed. - Adopted on call of the Roll , Yeas ; Commissioners Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) .
