Adams v to truck driver St. Terminate temporary - Parks Employ Dave Refuse Settle claim Larry Dowdy Settlement Sewer & Refuse for month of July 1973 Sell graves in Rushing Addition Ethel Louise Bailey At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah' , Kentucky, at 4:30 p.m., on July 31, 1973, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to ' be held at 4:30 p.m., on July 31, 1973, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: 1. The resignation of Martha Lou Sargent, clerk -typist in the Finance Office, be accepted, _effective- August, 3,. 19.73. 2. Billy Copeland be employed as temporary laborer in the Street Department, at a salary of $2.00 per hour, retroactive to July 30, 1973. 3. David J. Adams, laborer in the Street Department,, be promoted to truck driver in . said Department., at _ a, salary _ of $2..,91. per hour,,, retroactive -to-July-23, 1971. 4. The , following effective July 30,tem1orar 973 y _ e mployees„in the -Parks-Department.. be terminated, Carl Marquess, Jr. James Corder Brent Watts Sharon_ Cargill._ . 'n Dave.,Anderson be employed as ,~ collector . in, the Refuse Department, effective i/ August 6, 1973, at a salary of $2.'68 per hour Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Harvey offered motion , seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the claim of Larry Dowdy in the amount of $183.57 for damages sustained to his 1971 Puntiac automobile on July 27, 1973, on or near Minnich Avenue when it struck an unmarked manhole, be approved, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first• obtaining a complete and final release. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of July, 1973, be received and filed. Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by .Commissioner Puryear, that. the Board .of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mundy Funeral Home of the northeast corner of Lot No. 279 in Block, No. 6 of the Rushing Addition. to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 11588) and that the City _Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Gray, Commissioner, Bureau. ,of Highways, .dated July 16 ,. 1973, stating that Estelle Street in Paducah, from the intersection with the Cairo Road __(KY 305) to the intersection with 8th Street_ (US 45) be eliminated- from the Unclassified Roads and the State Primary Road System, be received and , filed. STREET IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON SEPTEMBER 8, 1953, AND AMENDED ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1953, AND LATER AMENDED ON OCTOBER 6, 195311, be adopted.
