Weitlauf Janet Dodson Sell grave in Oak Grove to Roy Langston City of Paducah July 3, 1973 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 P.M. on July 3, 1973, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 p.m. on July 3, 1973, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby that the petitions signed by residents and shoppers of the Greater Paducah, Kentucky Area, containing approximately 1540 names, protesting the showing of "X" rated movies by the Fourth Street Cinema, which petitions were presented to the Board of Commissioners at the meeting held on June 26, 1973, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, as follows: Upon the recommendation of the City Manager, I move that the following personnal changes be made: 1. Willie James Ricks be employed in the Refuse Department, as a temporary laborer at a salary of $2.00 per hour, retroactive to June 18, 1973. 2. Carl Harper, temporary laborer in the Refuse Department, be promoted to collector in said Department, at a salary of $2.68 per hour, retroactive to June 25, 1973. 3. James Clayton, collector in the Refuse Department, be promoted to truck driver at a salary of $2.91 per hour, retroactive to June 25, 1973. 4. Ronald Travis, "B" operator in the Street Department be promoted to "A" operator in said department, retroactive to June 25, 1973, at a salary of $3.41 per hour. Robert Jones, "C" operator in the Street Department be promoted to "B" operator in said department, retroactive to June 25, 1973, at a salary of $3.31 per hour. 6. Lester Herndon, Mechanic Helper in the Refuse Department, be promoted to "C" operator in the Street Department, retroactive to June 25, 1973, at a salary of $3.21 per hour. 7. David DeBoe, truck driver in the Street Department, be promoted to "C" operator in the Street Department, retroactive to June 25, 1973, at a salary of $3.21 per hour. 8. John Roberts, truck driver in the Street Department, be promoted to sewerman in said department, retroactive to June 25, 1973, at a salary of $3.11 per hour. 9. Marquis Reed, laborer in the Street Department, be promoted to Street Repair- man in said department, retroactive to June 25, 1973, at a salary of $3.01 per hour. 10. Joe Ford, laborer in the Park Department, be promoted to truck driver in said department, retroactive to June 25, 1973, at a salary of $2.91 per hour. II. The following persons be temporarily employed in the Park Department: / Wendel Ray Weitlauf as Junior Recreation Leader at a salary of $50.00 per week, retroactive to June 11, 1973. Janet Dodson as lifeguard at a salary of $1.85 per hour, retroactive to June 22, 1973. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, as follows: I move that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Roy Langston of a parcel of ground, 4 feet by 10 feet located in the southwest corner of Lot 283, Section 18 of Oak Grove Cemetery, being known as Grave No. 3, for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 11581), and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of nce to said Proceedings of Board of Commissioners" City of Agreement with Purchase Area Development Dist. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the Planning Agreement dated June 13, 1973, between the City of Paducah, Kentucky and the p p fhe =, . Purchase Area Development District, be received and filed. Adopted on call Roll Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a resolution o_ entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE Y DEMOLITION OF THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE INTERNATIONAL SHOE BUILDING LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF SECOND AND JEFFERSON STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, WITH THE PURCHASE AREA DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT FOR PLANNING ASSISTANCE IN FISCAL YEAR 1974, AND PROVIDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SUCH CONTRACT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST", be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF MID -SOUTH MATERIALS .k FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF VARIOUS CULVERT MATERIALS TO BE USED 1N NOBLE PARK, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspectiob in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,086.63 TO THE PADUCAH WATER WORKS FOR RELOCATION OF AN EIGHT INCH WATER MAIN ALONG FRIEDMAN LANE", be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
