Inspector 75 May 22, 1973 -At a Regular Meeting of the Board' of Commissioners- held in -the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky,-at"7:30�p.in., on May 22,,1973, Mayor MtNuffpresided' and upon call of the -Roll the following answered to their names ;:'Commissioners Harvey,- Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded -'by Commissioner -Hornsby; that the reading of the Minutes for May 8 and May 15, 1973 be waived; and that the Minutes of said -meetings prepared by the City Clerk be -approved 1 as -written. Adopted on .call of the' Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt made the following appointments: The terms of office of various members of the -Human- Rights Commission having expired, I hereby appoint the following individuals for a term of one year, said terms to expire April 13, 1974: Mrs. Mamie Browne H. Tim Taylor Rabbi Max -:Kaufman E.- W.- Whiteside',- Sr. Herbert Martin The Board received and filed a petition signed by residents of Hays and` Ashcraft Avenue regarding the drainage in the area. Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby as follows: Upon- the, recommendation of the City Manager, I move that Charles Edward Dick be employed as -Delinquent Tax Collector in the Finance. Department, -at a salary of $600.00 per month plus an additional $30. 00 per month `auto allowance, effective June 1l,' 1-97'3. The position hereby created shall be paid for from the Federal Revenue Sharing Trust Fund, but the position created shall provide all benefits as are now, provided for the full- time permanent employees of the city of paducah. (5)'. - Commissioner -Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that"the following bids for Contract No. 2 - 1973, Street Improvement Program, together with the bid bonds, be received and filed: Wilkins Construction Company, Inc': Harper & Arterburn, Inc. Midstates Construction, Inc. Crawford Construction Company Adopted on call'of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey; Hornsby-,'' Lambert,-Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner -Lambert offered motion; seconded by' Commissioner Puryear, as follows: Upon recommendation of. the City Manager-, T move that Alan Dennis Koebel, Sr. ; be employed as Assistant Electrical & Building =Inspector at a. salary -of $650.00 per month plus an additional $50.00 per month auto allowance, effective June 4, 1973. Ray Hack be employed as a temporary laborer in the: Floodwall Department, at a Temp labore salary of $2.00 per hour, retroactive to May 21, 1973. Floodwall A.Henderson �� 3. Anthony Henderson, temporary laborer in the Street Department, be terminated, terminate effective May -25; 1973 . Robert Cox 4. Robert Cox, sewer maintenance man in the Street Department, be reclassified as a St. Repairmaii street repairman, effective May 28, 1973, at a salary of $3.01 per hour. J. F. Floyd V 5. The following be employed as part=time truck drivers in the Parks Department, C . W . Marque s Jr at a salary of $2.10 per hour: Parks John Frederick Floyd, effective May 14, 1973 Carl W. Marquess, Jr. effective May 22, 1973 Part-time % 6. The following be employed as part-time laborers in the Park. B .-Williams be- temporarily employed as superintendent of Pool Maintenance in Temp pool -the Parks Department, at a salary -of $2.50 per hour, retroactive to May 11, 1973. Lifeguards 8. John Raymond Roberts, truck driver in the Street Department, be placed under Civic civil service Service for such position, effective May, 13,,.- 1973-: D . W . Clarence Bro k Clarence Brock, truck driver in the Street Department, be placed under Civil civil service Service for such position, effective May 28, 1973. Amend Ordinance Licensing Electricians City of Mav 22-' - Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING, ADOPTING, APPROVING, ACCEPTING AND RATIFYING THE EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENT FOR PROJECT NO. 8-21-0043-03 BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND CITY OF PADUCAH AND COUNTY OF McCRACKEN, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear. and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILKINS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. FOR CONTRACT NO. 2, PROJECT NO. KY E-2, SITE IMPROVEMENTS, MECHANICSBURG CODE ENFORCEMENT AREA, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF HARPER & ARTERBURN INC. FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF WASHINGTON STREET, JACKSON STIftTs., ADkMS- STREET AND 21ST THROUGH 25TH STREETS (CONTRACT NO. 2-1973 S .I .P) AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF HENRY A. PETTER SUPPLY COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF OUTSIDE LIGHTING FIXTURES FOR THE CIVIC CENTER PARKING LOT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ASPHALT PAVING, INC. FOR IMPROVEMENT OF PARK AVENUE, NORTH TENTH STREET AND CAMPBELL STREET (CONTRACT NO. 3 - 1973 S .I .P .) AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION (a) (8) AND AMENDING SECTION (b) (3) AND SECTION (d) OF SECTION 7-38 'LICENSE REQUIRED OF ELECTRICIANS', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted.
