HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/17/74Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 P.M. on December 17, 1974, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 p.m., on December 17, 1974, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: 1. The following be employed as temporary clerks in the Finance office, at a salary of $300.00 per month: Janet A. Metzger, effective December 16, 1974 Martha Lou Sargent, effective January 20, 1975 2. Edward Dewayne Harned, an applicant -candidate in the Fire Department, has satisfactorily completed the 60 day training period as such Applicant - candidate as provided by ordinance, he is hereby appointed a firefighter in the Paducah Fire Department, effective December 23, 1974, at a salary of $2.056 per hour. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board of Commissioners approve. the sale by the City of Paducah to Hamock Funeral Home of the Southwest corner of Lot No. 284 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 1625) and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that Official Order No. 81371 from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Transportation, pertaining to US 45 - US 60 Downtown Route through Paducah, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the executed copy of theContractbetween the City of Paducah and Belmont Equipment Company, Inc., for sale to the. City of three (3) Cushman Refuse Collection Vehicles, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,'Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the claim of Mrs. Shelby Brandstetter in the amount of $50.32 for damage to her automobile when struck by a Maintenance Department truck be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mrs. Wilma Lewis of the southeast corner of Lot No. 131 in Block No. 9 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 1603), and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a copy of the Resolution adopted by the Electric Plant Board on November 27, 1974 pertaining to the Schedule of Rates and Charges, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copy of the Contract Documents prepared by Community Program Consultants for U. S. Highway 62 & I-24 Sewer Relocation for the City of Paducah, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mundy Funeral Home of the Southeast corner of Lot No. 283 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 1612), and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION (a) OF SECTION 7-9 'ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PERMITS; BUILDING PERMIT FEES PRESCRIBED' , OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). On motion the meeting adjourned.
