At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4: 30 p.m., on August 20, 1974, Mayor McNutt presided
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) , Commissioner Hornsby being absent .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 30 p.m. on August 20, 1974, be received
and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (4) .
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that upon
recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made:
1. Kenneth L. Scruggs, temporary laborer in the Cemetery Department, be terminated,
effective August 19, -1974.-

2. The following be employed as temporary laborers in the Cemetery Department, at a
salary of $2.10 per hour:
Gary Ray Gregory, effective August 13, 1974
Jim Robertson, effective August 21, 1974
3. - Paul Martin, collector in the Refuse Department, be terminated, effective August 19, 1974.
4. The following temporary employees in the Parks & Recreation Department, be terminated:
Bill Sanders
Darrell Taylor
Brenda Kay Florence
John F. Floyd
Michael Chappell
Adopted on call of the Roll Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that a copy
of a motion adopted by the Paducah Planning Commission recommending closing of an alley located
between North 4th and North 5th Streets, south of Monroe and extending a distance of 55 feet
north from the south property line of St. Francis DeSales property, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the
executed copy of an Agreement dated July 22, 1974, between the City of Paducah and the Purchase
Area Development District, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commission-
ers Brumley, Coleman, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) .
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH COMMUNITY PROGRAM CONSULTANTS, INC .FOR TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
FOR A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLANNING STUDY TO BE CONDUCTED IN COOPERATION WITH
THE PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION AND FINANCED IN PART UNDER SECTION 701 OF THE
HOUSING ACTS OF 1954 AS AMENDED", be introduced and remain ori file for public inspection
for one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) .

Commissioner Coleman offered.motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF STEVE A. POLSTON, ROUTE NO. 1,
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO PURCHASE THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH IN LOT 8,
BLOCK 4, THURMAN, HUGHES,, HERZOG AND BETHEL ADDITION ON BETHEL STREET, FOR THE
SUM OF $350.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A QUITCLAIM
DEED", be adopted. Adopted, on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,
Puryear and Mayor_ McNutt (4) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Mayor McNutt, that an ordinance
entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE AMENDED PROPOSAL OF ERECTION AND EMPLACEMENT,
INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A TRAINING FACILITY FOR USE OF THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPART-
MENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTII
be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (4) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that an ordinance
entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH
MEIDINGER & ASSOCIATES IN AN -AMOUNT NOT TO. EXCEED $2,200 FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
IN PERFORMING AN ACTUARIAL STUDY FOR THE POLICE AND FIREMEN'S RETIREMENT FUND", be
introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which
it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners _Brumley,
Coleman, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (41) .
On motion the meeting _adjourned.
