June 18, 1974 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 p.m. on June 18, 1974, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4), Commissioner Brumley being absent. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 30 p.m., on June 18, 1974, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Mayor McNutt made the following appointments: Reappoint Rollie France The terms of office of Rollie France and T. G. Mundy as members of the T.G.Mundy Park Board Board of Park Commissioners having expired, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, I hereby reappoint Rollie France and T. G. Mundy for further terms of four (4) years, so that said Board shall be composed of the following members: Ronald L. Morgan whose term expires February 14, 1975 Mrs. W. H. Beaman whose term expires February 14, 1976 Mrs. Patsy Crosby whose term expires February 14, 1976 Rollie France whose term expires February 14, 1977 T. G. Mundy whose term expires February 14, 1978. Approve Reappointment Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that Rollie France T. G. Mundy the Board of Commissioners approve the action of Mayor Alice H. McNutt reappointing Rollie Park Board France and T. G. Mundy as members of the Board of Park Commissioners. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Transfer Fun Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that, S r SeweBond pursuant to the provisions of the Sewer Bond Ordinance of 1974, the City Treasurer be authorized to transfer from the City of Paducah Sewer System Construction Account of 1974 to the City of Paducah Sewer Depreciation and Extension Fund the amount of $94,984.44. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made: Terminate W. Ferguson 1. Wallace Ferguson, temporary laborer in the Street Department, be terminated, effective June 12, 1974. Terminate Bobby White 2. Bobby White, truck driver in the Street Department, be terminated, effective March 27, 1974. Terminate Temporary 3. The following personnel in the Parks Department be terminated, effective employees June 13, 1974: parks Sammy Hargrove Guitar Instructor Steve Vantreese, Guitar Instructor Terminate Linn Willis 4. Courtney 5. • The resignation of Cloyes E. Courtney, as maintenance man #2 in the Maintenance resignation Department, be accepted effective May 24, 1974. Janet Dodson -parks 6 • The rate of pay. of Janet Dodson, life and in the Parks Department, be changed P Y., - change rate of pay from $1.85 to $1.95 per hour, retroactive to May 25, 1974. Employ temporary 7 • The following -persons be temporarily employed in the Parks Department,' park personnel effective June 11-,_-1974. Roger Prather truck driver $ 2.25 per, hour Dwight Mills' 'Golf Instructor $15.00 per hour Bobby GCrouch-Fire to Captain -Training 8 • Bobby G. Crouch be reclassified from captain in the Paducah Fire Department, to Officer the position..of Captain -. Training Officer, effective June 17, 1974. Edgar Carson -Fire 9• - - .. Edgar Carson,.. a firefighter in the -Paducah Fire Department, be reclassified from to Firefighter-Assista t firefighter to'the position of Firefighter -Assistant Inspector, effective June 17, 1974. Inspector Warren O Morris to _. 10. Warren O Morris, mechanic Class A in the Street Department, be reclassified as Chief Mechanic -Street Chief Mechanic n -said department, effective June 17, 1974,, at a base hourly rate of $3.81'.' Commissioner_ Hornsby offered motion,, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that File bid on Tennis Courts the bid submitted by Asphalt Paving, Inc. for construction of six (6) tennis courts in Noble Park, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Rider to Bond of B & Vd Construcrion Company Liability Inst E. J. Roper Close Cully Street 9 Jnr Irvin Cobb Drive & Brown Street Sick Leave - amend (Firemen) Amend Sec. 10-52 create position chief mechanic Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Rider to be attached to and become_ apart of the -Bond of B & B Construction Company, dated June 4, 1974, increasing the amount of said Bond from $2, 000 to $4, 000 be received, approved and attached to the original bond. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby,I Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, -seconded by. -.'Commissioner Hornsby, that the Certificate of Insurance covering work done by E. J. Roper, for a period of one year from June 11, 1974, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners I Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING CULLY STREET BETWEEN IRVIN COBB DRIVE AND BROWN STREET", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTIONS (a) AND (h) OF SECTION 2-22 'SICK LEAVE GENERALLY' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY" I be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PORTION OF SUB -SECTION (a) OF SECTION 10-52 'STREET DEPARTMENT GENERALLY', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, No. 252 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah June 18 1974 Amend number, rank & salaries fire department Holidays - (firemen) Vacation Leave amend (firemen) KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-19 'NUMBER, RANK AND SALARIES OF MEMBERS' OF ARTICLE 11 'FIRE DEPARTMENT' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-20 'HOLIDAYS' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION (f) OF SECTION 2-21 'VACATION LEAVE GENERALLY', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY", be adopted.
