Basketroom Attendants - Department Basketroom Attendants - Department City of Paducah June 4, 1974 At a Called'Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in thet Commission Chamber -in the City Hall, Paducah; ,Kentuck'y=, at 4: 30 P.M., on June 4, 1974, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the'Roll the following answered to their names: -Commissioners Brumley; Coleman; =Hornsby,, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) Mayor- McNutt -offered fiotiori, seconded"by- Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies ofthe-Notice of Called`Meeting to be held at, 4: 30 p.m.-, on June 4,- 1974, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that upon recommendation of the City Manager'the'•following personnel changes be made: 1. Andrew Jackson Lampkin III be employed as a temporary laborer in the Cemetery Department, at a salary of $2.10 per hour, retroactive to May 28, 1974. 2. Samuel L. Taylor, vehicle body repaidman in the Street Department, be terminated, effective June 4, 1974. 3 David Mathis be employed as temporary pump operator in the Floodwall Department, at a salary of $2.10 per hour, retroactive to May 29, 1974. 4. That the following be employed as pool managers in the Parks Department, retroactive to May 25, 1974, at a salary of $100.00 per week: Damaris L. Gray Lyman Brown Larry Krouse / Kevin Walker 5. Don Smith be employed as maintenance man for the swimming pool in the Parks Department, retroactive to June 3, 1974, at a salary of $2.75 per hour. 6. The following be employed as lifeguards in the Parks department, retroactive to May 25, 1974: Shelia Buchanan, at a salary of $2.05 per hour Dorothy Crayne, at a salary of $1.85 per hour Glen Groben, at a salary of $2.05 per hour Teresa Briedert, at a salary of $1.65 per hour Barbara Baker, at a salary of $1.85 per hour Diane Wright at a salary of $1.65 per hour Janet Dodson, at a salary of $1.85 per hour Laura Torok, at a salary of $1.70 per hour Charlie Rothe, at a salary of $2.05 per hour Pat Cocke, at a salary of $1.70 per hour Caroline Rothe, at a salary of $2.00 per hour Jimmy Anderson, at a salary of $2.05 per hour Susan Stewart, at a salary of $2.05 per hour Teresa Wathen, at a salary of $1.65 per hour Brooks Watson, at a salary of $1.65 per hour Mary Hayes Render, at a salary of $1.65 per hour. i 7. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, as follows: WHEREAS ; the Board of Commissioners has heretofore'approved a $6, 000 apportionment of its funds for a contribution to the Vocational Handicapped Program, Now therefore, I move that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby authorized to issue 'a check for $6,000 payable to the Paducah Board of Education for the City's contribution to the Vocational Handicapped Program. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a copy of a motion adopted by the Paducah Planning Commission recommending closing of certain streets and alleys in the North Tyler Park Area, be received and filed. Commissioner Hornsby -offered 'motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear that the executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah •and 'Kentucky Machinery , Inc. for sale to the City of a Tandem Roller for use in the Street'bepartme'nt,'be received and filed. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear as follows: WHEREAS , on \December 28, 1973 the Board of Commissioners granted Robert C. Cherry Jr. an educational leave of absence from January 1, 1974 to January 1, 1975, and WHEREAS, Robert C. Cherry, Jr. has completed his fire -training education and is available for return to active duty in the Fire Department, NOW, THEREFORE, I move that the leave of absence heretofore anted to Robert C . Cherry, Jr for education toward obtaining an associate degree in fire prevention be terminated and that the member be reassigned to the Paducah Fire Department for active duty from and after May '26, 1974. `Adopted on call of the Roll, "Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby; Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the claim of U. S. Postal Service in the` amount of $55.50 for damage to a mail jeep caused by being struck by a truck owned by the City and operated by Edward Wade on May 9, 1974 off the Old Mayfield Road between 27th and 28th Streets, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release. Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING, ADOPTING, APPROVING, ACCEPTING AND RATIFYING THE EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENT FOR PROJECT NO. 8-21-0043-5 BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY, AND COUNTY OF McCRACKEN, KENTUCKY", be adopted.
