Krouse Kevin Walker ✓ Terminate Temporary Park employees Harold Guill Maintenance Ata Called Meeting of -the Board of -Commissioners held. in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4: 30 p.m. on May 21, 1974, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call. of. the Roll the following answered -to .their names: Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 30 p.m. , on May 21, 1974, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc. be received and filed, -and that the performance bond required by said contract, executed by said Company as principal and United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company of Baltimore, Maryland as surety be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the Easement dated May 18, 1974 from S & J Investment Company, Inc. and Mrs. Dathol E. Taber, to the City of Paducah for the retention of a utility easement on Hobson Avenue, which has now been closed, be receiived and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutf (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that Exonerations prepared and delivered by the City Treasurer numbered 20945 to 21027 and 22459 to 23055, be received and filed, and that the amounts of same totaling $19,115.01 be exonerated on tax bills shown and designated 'by said Exonerations. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: 1. The following persons be employed as temporary truck drivers in the Parks Department, at a salary of $2.25 per .hour, retroactive to _May20, 1974: Ricky Keeling , Michael Chappell r Robert ,Jones 2. ..,The following. -persons be employed as temporary swimming pool managers, in the Parks Department, retroactive to May 20, 1974, at a salary of $100.00 per week: Lyman D. Brown David L. Krouse Kevin Walker 3. The following temporary employees in the Parks Department be terminated, effective _ May -20, 1974: William Hayden, Judo Instructor James Lynn Corder, laborer Roger Prather, truck driver 4. Harold Guill be employed as a temporary laborer in the Maintenance Department retroactive to May 20, 1974, at a salary of $2.68 per hour. The classification of Robert Brown, "B" operator in the Street Department, be changed to "C" operator in said department, effective May 27, 1974. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Deed of Conveyance from J. T. Albritton and wife, Louise R. Albritton to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, conveying to said City.a parcel of land located at the intersection of 9th and Madison Streets, together with a title certification dated April 29, 1974 and a letter from Andrew J. Palmer on the same date containing the terms and conditions of sale of the property by Mr. & Mrs. Albritton to the City, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Summary of Income and Expenses submitted by the Kelley Transportation Company Inc. for bus service within the City of Paducah for the month of April 1974, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby,. Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the following bids for sale to the City of one (1) four to six ton Tendem Roller, be received and filed: Kentucky Machinery, Inc., Brandeis Machinery & Supply Corporation Adopted on call o the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, .Puryear and p _ Mayor McNutt (5).. Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE., 'CITY OF PADUCAH SECONDARY SEWAGE TREATMENT BOND AND INTEREST ACCOUNT OF 1974"', be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,. Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIX TENNIS COURTS TO BE LOCATED AT NOBLE PARK IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH A CONTRACT MAY BE LET", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AUTHORIZATION AND RELEASE WITH THE HOME INSURANCE COMPANY IN SETTLEMENT, SATISFACTION AND DISCHARGE OF ALL LOSSES SUSTAINED TO THE MARKET HOUSE BUILDING", be adopted. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING' THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH BIAGI-HANNAN AND "ASSOCIATES , INC. FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES RENDERED IN CONNECTION`WITH THE WEST END SEWER EXTENSION STUDY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and -Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner"Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KENTUCKY MACHINERY, INC. FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE (1) TANDEM ROLLER, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for 'at least'onen week for -public inspection in the completed form in which' it- shall be put upon its final passage. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 20-73 ''U-TURNS PROHIBITED ON BROADWAY' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY", be adopted. Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CREATING 'ARTICLE XI. BICYCLES' OF CHAPTER 20 'MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY'- , be adopted.
