HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/14/74Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Kenneth B Aldridge Applicant -Candidate Fire Department Temporary Cemetery William Boair III Kenny Holmes Donnie Alvey to truck driver - Street Linn Willis to Main1 Man No. 2 in Parks File contract with Allied Machinery Co Street Paver File contract with Manning Equipment Co Street Sweeper File contract with Emulsified Asphalt Co :)n asphalt also Performance Bond 235 4,-1974 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commission held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7: 30 p.m. , on May 14, 1974, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the reading of the Minutes for April 23, April 30 and May 7, 1974 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: 1. That Kenneth Blakely Aldridge be employed as Applicant -Candidate in the Paducah Fire Department, effective May 27', 1974, provided`by such time he'furnishes at his expense, a satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition including - .an electrocardiogram.. 2. The following be temporarily employed iri the -Cemetery Department: William Blair IIIA as_ truck driver, at a salary of $2.25 per hour, retroactive to May 13, 1974. Kenny Holmes as laborer, at a salary of $2.10 per hour, effective May 20, 1974. 3. Donnie P. Alvey, laborer in the Street Department, be promoted to truck driver in the Parks Department', retroactive to May `13- 1974: 4. Linn Willis,- temporary laborer in the Cemetery 'Department, be promoted to Maintenance Man No. 2 in the Parks Department, retroactive to May 13, 1974. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Allied Machinery Company for sale to the City of a new Blaw-Knox paver for use by the Street Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the executed copy of the contract between the City and Manning Equipment Company for sale to the City of a Modil Model 2 -TE -3 Sweeper for use in the Street Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Emulsified Asphalt Company be received and filed, and that the performance bond required by said contract, executed by said Company as principal and St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company of St. Paul, Minnesota as surety, together with a letter from Forrest- Sherer, , Inc . , dated May 7, 1974, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . No. 236 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah May 14, 1974 File Contract Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that Allan Rhodes car for Parks the executed copy of the contract between the City and Allan Rhodes, Inc. , for sale to the city of a 1974 Ford Maverick for use by the Parks Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). File Agreement Department of Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Transportation executed copy of the Agreement between the Department of Transportation, Commonwealth of Hinkleville-Park Avenue Road Kentucky, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, in regard to the Hinkleville-Park Avenue Road Construction Construction, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that Amend Section 10-59 Civil an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION (a) OF SECTION 10-59 'PARKS Service - Parks Increase numbei AND RECREATION DEPARTMENTIP, •OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, Maintenance Mah positions KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance Execute contracl Biagi -Hannan entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH engineering services West BIAGI-HANNAN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES RENDERED IN CONNECTION End Sewer Extension Stud 3 main on file for one week WITH THE WEST END SEWER EXTENSION STUDY", be introduced and remain for public inspection in the completed form in which it -shall be put up6li-its fihal passage.
