City of Paducah March 5, 1974
At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4: 30 p.m., on March 5, 1974, Mayor_McNutt
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: „Commissioners
Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (.5) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 30 p.m. , on March 5, 1974, be received
and filed', Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that
the claim of John Reeves in the amount of $182.80 for damage to his 1974 Ford automobile
caused by a vehicle belonging to the City of Paducah, on January 31, 1974 at 9th & Tennessee
Streets, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first
obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear,
that the Memorandum of Insurance issued by Carolina Casualty Insurance Company to Kelley
Transportation Company, for a period of one year from February 22, 1974, be received,
approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,
Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that
the following bids for construction of Secondary Wastewater Treatment Facilities, be received
and filed:

L & T Construction Company
Harper & Arterburn
Carney General Contractors
Quality Construction Company
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
bid of Kentucky Machinery, Inc., for sale to the City of one multi-purpose excavator, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Puryear,
Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby,
3. that the Certificate of Insurance issued by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company
to the City of Paducah covering work done by E. D. Hannan Company, for a period of one
year from February 19, 1974, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .

DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
AND. SETTING FORTH. THE TERMS., CONDITIONS AND -SPECIFICATIONS. FOR SUCH FRANCHISE",
be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby,
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KENTUCKY MACHINERY, INC., FOR
THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE WARNER & SWASEY MODEL 300 HYDRO -SCOPIC
MULTI-PURPOSE EXCAVATOR FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and
remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put
upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman,
Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
On motion the meeting adjourned.
