At a called meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on December 19,
1978, at 4: 30 P.M., Mayor Murphy presided and upon call of the Roll, the following
answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Meeks, Puryear and
Mayor Murphy (5) .
Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that
the executed copies of the Notices of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, December 19, 1978, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Meeks, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley,
as follows:
WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes permit the adoption of ordinances by
reference to a summary thereof;
I therefore move that adoption of an ordinance amending an ordinance
authorizing the City Manager and City Treasurer to establish a line of credit with
local banks for sums not exceeding One Million Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($1, 250 , 000.00) by providing an emergency clause. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Meeks, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman,
as follows:
WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes permit the adoption of ordinances
by reference to a summary thereof;
I therefore move that an ordinance, as amended, authorizing the City
Manager and City Treasurer to establish a line of credit with local banks for sums not
exceeding One Million Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($1,250,000.00) for the
use and benefit of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and as appended in full hereto be
introduced and adopted according to law. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commis-
sioners Coleman, Grumley, Meeks, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
Commissioner Meeks offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear,
as follows:
WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes permit the adoption of ordinances
by reference to a summary thereof;
I therefore move that an ordinance authorizing the transfer of $163,091.72
from the City of Paducah Public Works Cumulative Reserve Fund Account to the Town -
lift Notes Payable Account and the amendment thereto, be adopted as amended according
to law. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Meeks,
Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Meeks ,
that the Board of Commissioners go into Executive Session for the purposes of dis-
cussing, with Counsel, litigation matters involving Fisher v City of Paducah and Smith
v the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Meeks, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
Upon conclusion of the executive session, the Board reconvened in the
Commission Chamber, whereupon the Mayor announced there was no further business.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
