HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/07/78Proceedings of Board of Commissioners -I Chy of Paducah ___ __July 7. 1978 SPECIAL MEETING Temporary employees - Parks & Recreation Dept. wages increased to $2.00 minimum as required by state statute File agrement - Speceal meeting No. A Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners was held in the Commission Chamber at City Hall; Paducah, Kentucky, at 5:00 p.m. on July 7, 1978. Mayor Murphy presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Meeks, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . After discussion and several statements from the audience regarding the "strike" by the lifeguards, Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that all salaries of employees in the Parks & Recreation Department be raised to comply with the state minimum wage of $2.00 per hour, and this motion shall be retroactive to the effective date of latest increase of state minimum wage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Meeks, Puryear and Mayor Murphy. Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the executed copy of an Agreement by the Mayor and Commissioners for a Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, to be held on Friday, July 7, 1978, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Meeks, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
