At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 p.m. on October 27, 1977,
Mayor Murphy presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their
names: Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that
the executed copies of the notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 p.m. on
October 27, 1977, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Com-
missioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
Discusion was held regarding a proposed contract with Firefighters' Local 168.
Mr. Denton briefed the Board and stated the two major problems in reaching a settle -
ment were grievance and arbitration procedures. The
consensus of
the Board
of
Commissioners was that until they have an opportunity
to study the
proposals
of both
the Firefighters and the City, they will not take an official position or make any
statements. The City Clerk was ordered to distribute copies of the aforesaid pro-
posal to Board members.
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley,
at 5: 45 p.m., that the meeting be adjourned. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
