HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/30/77 - CalledNo. Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah August 30, 1977 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 3: 00 P.M., on August 30, 1977, Mayor Murphy presided, and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 3: 00 P.M. on August 30, 1977, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Commissioner Hornsby, after making a statement, offered the motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Amending the Effective Date of Ordinance No. 77-8-1454" be adopted. Commissioner Brumley and Mayor Murphy made statements regarding their respective positions on the proposed ordinance. Thereafter, the ordinance was adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby and Puryear. Mayor Murphy voted "No". Commissioner Brumley offered a motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: 1. The following Lieutentants in the Paducah Fire Department be promoted to Captains in said department, retroactive to August 29, 1977: Delbert C. Reeder Neil Harned Raymond Ruley 2. The following Firefighters in the Paducah Fire Department be promoted to Lieutenants in said department, retroactive to August 29, 1977: Leslie J. Walker Raymond J. Smith Claude Hutchinson Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Thereupon, Mr . Denton stated to the Board that requests had been received from the Paducah Airport Corporation and the City Engineer's office that two items of business were not agended be acted upon at this meeting. All Commis- sioners and the Mayor indicated their approval of said items. Commissioner Brumley then offered motions econded by Commissioner Grumley, that a Resolution entitled "Resolution Authorizing, Adopting, Approving, Accepting and Ratifying the Execution of Grant Agreement for Project No. 6-21-0043-8 Between the United States of America and City of Paducah and County of McCracken, Kentucky" be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . 239 : File notices of Called Meeting Amend Ord. Humbles address Commission Commissioner Grumley offered for final adoption, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Accepting the Proposal of Crawford Construction Company, in the Amount of Fifty Five Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($55,900.00) for Construction of Transformer Substation Relocation at the Island Creek Pumping Plant". Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) . Motion was then made by Commissioner Grumley, seconded by Commis - sioner Brumley that the meeting adjourn. Thereupon, Mr. Gladman Humbles re- quested permission to address the Commission prior to adjournment. Permission was granted by Mayor Murphy, and upon the conclusion of Mr. Humbles's statement, Adjourn question was called for, and upon unanimous vote the meeting was adjourned.
