At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4: 00 p.m., on July 23, 1976, Mayor Murphy presided
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley,
Grumley, , Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
Mayor Murphy offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, , that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 00 P.M., on July 23, 1976, be received
and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, , Hornsby,
Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby read in full then offered motion, seconded by Commissioner
Puryear , that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH , BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE
LIMITS OF THE CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE
INCLUDED WITHIN THE SAID CORPORATE LIMITS", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Grumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, as follows:
I move that a copy of the letter dated July 23, 1976, from Tom Wilson, Chairman
of the Bicentennial Summer Festival, requesting the City of Paducah to make a contribution
of $1, 000.00 to help pay the expense of bringing the American Wind Symphony Orchestra
concert to Paducah on August 31, 1976, be received and filed.
I further move that the City guarantee a contribution of $1, 000.00 for payment of
same provided a like amount is also contributed by the McCracken Fiscal Court and the Paducah -
McCracken County Recreation, Tourist and Convention Commission. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Murphy (3) , Commissioners Brumley
and Grumley voted "No" (2) .
On motion the meeting adjourned.
