HomeMy WebLinkAboutMO # 904MUNICIPAL ORDER NO. 9 SUMMER FESTIVAL 2001 DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ZONE VENDING RESTRICTIONS WHEREAS, the 2001 Summer Festival is scheduled for Saturday, July21, through Saturday, July 28, 2001; and WHEREAS, part of the funding for this free community event is derived from the rental of booth spaces to food and novelty vendors; and WHEREAS, it would be unfair to allow vendors who do not support the festival with booth rental payments to set up the same area as vendors who have paid rental fees; and WHEREAS, Section 74-5 of the Paducah Code of Ordinances provides that the City Commission may restrict licensed peddlers from displaying or selling merchandise within certain portions of the defined Downtown Business Zone during the Paducah Summer Festival. BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That between July 21 and July 28, 2001, licensed peddlers and licensed vendors who are not participating in the Paducah Summer Festival booth rental program are prohibited from selling food or merchandise within the portion of the Downtown Business Zone lying within the area bounded by Monroe Street, both sides of Second Street, Washington Street and the Ohio River. SECTION 2. This order will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
