MUNICIPAL ORDER NO. 3
A MUNICIPAL ORDER ADOPTING A RESOLUTION ENTITLED,
"RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF WATERWORKS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH DECLARING REAL PROPERTY AT 221 WATER STREET SURPLUS
PROPERTY; RELINQUISHING THE RIGHTS OF SAID PROPERTY TO THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY; AND RELINQUISHING THE
RIGHTS TO PROCEEDS SHOULD SAID PROPERTY BE SOLD"
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Water Works have declared the real
property located at 221 Water Street is no longer suitable or necessary to the operation of
the Water Works; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Water Works have declared this to be
surplus property; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Water Works have declared that it
would be in the best public interest to relinquish any and all rights to said property to the
Board of Commissioners of the City and to transfer ownership of said property solely to
the City of Paducah;
Kentucky.
WHEREAS, said property is presently owned by the City of Paducah,
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts transfer of ownership of
real property located at 221 Water Street from the Commissioners of Water Works, which
is more particularly described as follows:
Being a parcel comprised of ten tracts of land located on the south
side of Water Street in the City of Paducah, McCracken County,
Kentucky, said tract of land being more particularly described as
follows:
Tract I:
Lot Thirty -Two (32), Block Seven (7), Original Town, fronting
fifty-seven (57) feet, nine (9) inches on First Street (now Water
Street) and extending back one hundred seventy-three (173) feet,
three (3) inches to Maiden Alley.
Tract II:
Lot Thirty-three (33), Block Seven (7), Original Town, fronting
Fifty-seven 957) feet, nine (9) inches on First Street (now Water
Street), and extending back one hundred seventy-three (173) feet,
three (3) inches to Maiden Alley.
Tract III:
Part of Lot Thirty-four (34), Block Seven (7), Original Town,
fronting forty (40) feet on First Street (now Water Street) and
extending back one hundred seventy-three (173) feet three (3)
inches to Maiden Alley, beginning one hundred seventy-three
(173) feet, three (3) inches North from the intersection of
Washington and First Streets; thence North on First Street forty
(40) feet; thence at right angles and back towards Second Street
one hundred seventy-three (173) feet, three inches to Maiden
Alley; thence at right angles South on Maiden Alley forty (40) feet;
thence at right angles and towards First Street to the point of
beginning one hundred seventy-three (173) feet three (3) inches,

being a part of one hundred fifteen (115) feet, six (6) inches which
was conveyed to Brackett Owen by deed from Robert Owen in
December 1899.
Tract IV:
Part of Lot Thirty-four (34) and Lot Thirty-five (35), Block Seven
(7), Original Town, fronting seventy-five (75) feet six (6) inches on
First Street (now Water Street) and extending back one hundred
seventy-three (173) feet, three (3) inches to Maiden Alley, being
one (1) lot on First Street, and being a part of Lot Thirty-four (34)
and all of Lot Thirty-five (35), in Block Seven (7) -of Division "A"
all fronting seventy-five (75) feet, six (6) inches, more or less, and
running back to Maiden Alley a depth of one hundred seventy-
three (173) feet, three (3) inches, more or less.
Tract V:
Beginning at the southwest corner of First (now Water Street) and
Court Streets (now Kentucky Avenue) said property fronting on
Court Street Twenty-five (25) feet and running back on First Street
fifty-seven (57) feet, nine (9) inches.
Tract VI:
Being a part of Lot Thirty-six (36), Block Seven (7), Old Town
plat of Paducah. Beginning at a point on the south side of
Kentucky Avenue (formerly Court Street), twenty-five (25) feet
from First Street (now Water Street); thence up Kentucky Avenue
toward Second Street forty (40) feet; thence at right angles toward
Washington Street fifty-seven (57) feet, nine (9) inches; thence at
right angles toward First Street forty (40) feet; thence at right
angles fifty-seven (57) feet, nine (9) inches to the place of
beginning.
Tract VII:
Beginning at a stake on the upper or South side of Kentucky
Avenue (formerly Court Street) sixty-five (65) feet from the corner
of Kentucky Avenue (formerly Court Street) and First Street
(formerly Main Street and now Water Street); thence out Kentucky
Avenue toward Second Street (formerly Market Street) twenty (20)
feet to a stake; thence at right angles and toward Washington Street
fifty-seven (57) feet nine (9) inches; thence at right angles toward
First Street twenty (20) feet; thence at right angles fifty-seven (57)
feet, nine (9) inches to the beginning point on Kentucky Avenue.
Tract VIII:
A part of Lot Thirty-six (36), Block Seven (7), Original Town of
Paducah, as appears on the plat thereof, which is of record in the
McCracken County Court Clerk's Office; said lot beginning at a
stake in said Lot Thirty-six (36) on the south side of Court Street
(now Kentucky Avenue) eighty-five (86) feet from the southwest
corner of First and Court Streets; thence with Court Street toward
Second Street twenty (20) feet to a stake in the south line of Court
Street; thence at a right angle fifty-seven (57) feet, nine (9) inches
to a stake; thence at a right angle and in the direction of First Street
twenty (20) feet to a stake; thence at a right angle toward Court
Street fifty-seven (57) feet, nine (9) inches to the place of
beginning.
Tract IX:
A part of Lot Thirty-six (36), Block Seven (7) Old Town of
Paducah, fronting on Court Street (now Kentucky Avenue) and
beginning on Court Street (now Kentucky Avenue) at the corner of
Maiden Alley; thence down Court Street (now Kentucky Avenue)
And on the south side thereof twenty-two (22) feet, nine (9) inches
to the stake in the line of the south side of Kentucky Avenue;
thence at a right angle to the right up the river and across said lot
fifty-seven (57) feet, nine (9) inches to a stake; thence at a right
angle to the right twenty-two (22) feet, nine (9) inches to a stake, in

the east line of said alley; thence with said alley fifty-seven (57)
feet, nine (9) inches to the place of beginning.
Tracts I through IX being a portion of the same property conveyed
to the City of Paducah by deed dated October 30, 1930, of record
in Deed Book 170, page 509, in the office of the Clerk of the
County Court of McCracken County, Kentucky.
Tract X:
Being part of Lot No. 36, in Block No. 7, Old Town of Paducah
and being at a point on the south side of Court Street (now
Kentucky Avenue) twenty-two (22) feet nine (9) inches from the
east side of Maiden Alley; thence eastwardly with Court Street
forty-two (42) feet three (3) inches; thence at right angles fifty-
seven (57) feet nine (9) inches; thence at right angles in a westerly
direction forty-two (42) feet three (3) inches; thence at right angles
fifty-seven (57) feet nine (9) inches to the beginning.
Tract X being the same property conveyed to the City of Paducah
for the use and benefit of the Commissioners of Water Works by
deed dated December 7, 1940, of record in Commissioner's Deed
Book 10, page 260, in the office of the Clerk of the County Court
of McCracken County, Kentucky.
SECTION 2. This Order will be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its adoption.
