At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held on Monday, March 5, 2007, at
5:30 p.m., Mayor Paxton presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the
following answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Kaler, Smith, Watkins and
Mayor Paxton (5).
R & F CALLED MEETING NOTICES
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kaler, that the
\ Notice of Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah for 5:30
p.m., Monday, March 5, 2007, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Kaler, Smith, Watkins and
Mayor Paxton (5).
APPLICATIONS FOR RE -USE OF PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 201 NORTH
12TH STREET AND 2956 PARK AVENUE
The Board of Commissioners convened as the Local Redevelopment Authority and
opened the meeting for presentation of applications for the re -use of the properties at
2956 Park Avenue and 201 North 12th Street.
Parks Services Department was the first presenter. Mark Thompson, Director, announced
they would be withdrawing their application for the property at 201 North 12th Street.
Mr. Thompson would like to obtain the property at 2956 Park Avenue to be used as a
Community Recreation Center.
Second presenter was Paducah Cooperative Ministry. Heidi Suhrheinrich, Executive
Director of PCM, offered proposal for the property at 201 North 12th Street. PCM would
like to obtain the property to provide shelter for women who are being released from
incarceration who need a place to live.
Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center, Vonnie Hays -Adams, offered proposal for the
property at 2956 Park Avenue. The Merryman House would like to start a SAFE
Transitions Housing Program. This would be a six month program that helps abuse
victims take back control of their lives.
