RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Robert Knight, Mayor of Wichita, Kansas and President of the
National League of Cities has made Undoing Racism a top
priority for the National League of Cities; and

~~~,~ ~ WHEREAS, the main goals of the Undoing Racism Initiative are to (1)
challenge and assist city governments to become Cities Striving
to Promote Racial Justice and (2) provide tools, training and
materials that encourage and enable municipal officials to carry
out leadership roles to promote racial justice; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has a positive relationship with the
National League of Cities and its members and envisions the
Undoing Racism Initiative as a way of making municipal
government a part of the solution for each community and out
nation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD
OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
That the City hereby expresses its strong and enthusiastic
support for the Undoing Racism initiative of National League of Cities and
the objectives of the project to provide a thoughtful examination of the
current conditions, the implementation of action plans, articulation of a
- vision, and the communication of ideas; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That the Board further urges all citizens of the City of Paducah
to be involved with and in support of this important initiative of National
League of Cities.
