At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on August 3, 1983, Mayor Penrod
presided and upon call of the Roll, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman,
Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod (4).
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Viterisi, that the executed
copies of notices of Called Meeting to be held at 1:00 p.m. on August 3, 1983, be received and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod
(4). Commissioner Flynn arrived.
A public hearing was conducted on the sale of pornographic material by Investment Enter -
tainment, Inc., d/b/a Tammy's Book Store, which was recorded by Shirley France, Court Reporter.
The Board reviewed the video tapes, "EROTIC INTERLUDE" and "THE FILTHY RICH"; and
and two 36 slick -page magazines entitled, "BACK DOOR NUMBER TWO"and "MR/MRS";containing color photo-
graphs depicting in an explicit manner sexual relations between men and women, etc., in their
entirety. After reviewing said tapes and magazines, Commissioner Flynn offered motion, seconded by
Commissioner Ford, that a Resolution declaring certain material to be obscene, be adopted. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Flynn, Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod (5).
Commissioner Viterisi offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that a grievance,
dated July 13, 1983, filed by George Raymond, Maintenance Department, and discussed by the Board of
Commissioners on July 26, 1983, be denied. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Cole-
man, Flynn, Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod (5).
Commissioner Flynn offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that a grievance,
dated July 14, 1983, filed by Melissa Street, truck driver in the Cemetery Department, and discussed
by the Board of Commissioners on July 26, 1983, be denied. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Coleman, Flynn, Ford, Viterisi and Mayor Penrod (5).
Commissioner Viterisi offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the meeting
be adjourned. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Flynn, Fords Viterisi and
Mayor Penrod (5).
