At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on June 14, 1983,
Mayor Protem Viterisi presided and upon call of the Roll, the following answered to
their names: Commissioners Coleman, Ford, Mayor Protein Viterisi (4). Mayor Penrod was
absent (1).
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Flynn, that the
executed notices of Called Meeting to be held at 6:30 p.m. on June 14, 1983, and the
Notice of Workshop Meeting to be held at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 1983, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Flynn,
Ford, and Mayor Protem Viterisi (4).
A public hearing was held on the rezoning from R-1, Low Density Residential
Zone to M-1, Light Industrial Zone, of the property on Cairo Road, west of I-24. There
were two people, Charles and Judith Beyer, owners, to speak in favor of the rezoning.
The following people spoke against the rezoning: Phillip Flood, Herman Shaffer, Frank
Hodges, Jim Thomason and Joyce Thomson. The Board was then presented with a petition,
objecting to a liquor store being opened on this property, by Mr. Pugh. Commissioner
Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Ford, that the rezoning of the pro-
perty on Cairo Road, west of I-24, be referred back to the Planning Commission for
additional and specific findings of fact. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commis-
sioners Coleman, Flynn, Ford, and Mayor Protem Viterisi (4).
Ajourn 11 Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Flynn, that the
meeting be adjourned.
