HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/03/87No. Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah July At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissioner Chambers, at 1:30 p.m. on July 8, 1987, Mayor Viterisi presided and upon call of the roll, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Cole, Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (5). Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Cole, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 1987, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (5). Mayor Viterisi offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board of Commissioners adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE GIFT TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH BY JULIAN M. DISMUKES JR., JULIAN M. DISMUKES III AND PHILIP DISMUKES OF A BOAT CHAIN IN MEMORY OF THEIR GRANDFATHER, JULIAN M. DISMUKES, AND SETTING FORTH CONDITIONS UPON SAID GIFT". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Accepting the gift to the City by Julian M. Dismukes Jr., Julian M. Dismukes III, and Philip Dismukes of an iron boat chain in memory of their grandfather, Juliam M. Dismukes, and setting forth the terms and conditions for acceptance of said gift. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (5). Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Ford, that the Board of Commissioners go into Executive Session for discussions which might lead to the appointment, discipline or dismissal of an individual employee, and to discuss negotiations. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Cole, Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (5). At the conclusion of the Executive Session the Board reconvened in the Commission Chamber, whereupon Mayor Viterisi called the meeting to order. Commissioner Cole offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION(a) OF SECTION 25-19 'NUMBER, RANK AND SALARIES OF MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Amending salaries of Police Department Officers, effective January 1, 1987. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Cole voted nay (1). Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Cole, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah orders that the personnel changes on the attached list be approved. (SEE MUNICIPAL ORDER BOOK) Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Cole, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Cole voted nay (1). Commissioner Ford offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-47.5, 'NONCIVIL SERVICE GENERALLY', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Amending the salaries of members of the Emergency Communications Department effective July 1, 1987. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Cole voted nay M. Commissioner Ford offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (a) and (b) OF SECTION 12-199 'NUMBER, RANK AND SALARIES OF MEMBERS' OF ARTICLE II 'FIRE DEPARTMENT' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Ford, that the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-49, 'CITY MANAGER - GENERALLY', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Amending the salary of the City Manager effective July 1, 1987. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Cole voted nay (1). Commissioner Grumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Ford, that the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-52, 'ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE ADMINISTRATOR', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Amending the salary of the Alcoholic Beverage Administrator effective July 1, 1987. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Cole voted nay (1). Mayor Viterisi offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION (a), OF SECTION 2-47,1NONCIVIL SERVICE GENERALLY' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Amending the salaries of noncivil service employees effective July 1, 1987. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Cole voted nay (1). Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Grumley, that the the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 10-49, 10-51, 10-529 10-539, 10-543, 10-559 10-565 10-58, 10-599 10-60, 10-61, 10-63, and 10-65, 'CIVIL SERVICE', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Amending the salaries of civil service employees effective July 1, 1987. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Ford, Grumley and Mayor Viterisi (4). Commissioner Cole voted nay (1). Upon motion the meeting adjourned. ADOPTED: City Jerk Mayor
