A MUNICIPAL ORDER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE
FOR CHANNEL IMPROVEMENTS, 32ND STREET TO US 60, AND PRESCRIBING THE
CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH IMPROVEMENTS SHALL- BE MADE
BE .IT ORDERED_ BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH;, KENTUCKY:
. SECTION. 1. That the City Manager _be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for channel improvements, 32nd. Street to US- ,60, said in-
vitation for bids to be as follows:
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
RECEIPT OF, PROPOSALS
The City of Paducah, Kentucky will receive bids for "Channel Improvements, _-
32nd Street to US 60" until 2:00 p.m., on the day of , 1981,
at the office of the .City Manager, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at which time
all bids will be publicly opened, in the Commission Chamber of City Hall, and
read aloud.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project consists of clearing brush, -excavation_ and removal of silt„ and
general reshaping of the storm drainage channel which parallels the flood levee
from 32nd Street to US_ 60.
OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
Plans and specifications are_ on file at the office of the City Engineer, City Hall,
Paducah, Kentucky, and at the office of the Associated General Contractors, Paducah,
Kentucky. . Copies of plans and specifications- may be obtained at the office of .the -
City Engineer.
PROPOSAL GUARANTY
A satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an
amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid.
PERFORMANCE BOND AND LABOR AND MATERIAL BOND
The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Perform-
ance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond - each in the amount of one
hundred percent (100%) of the Contract.

The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not
discriminated against, .because of- their_ race,_ color,_ religion, .sex or national origin.
OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED
The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any
informalities in the bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60)
days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the City of Paducah.

SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by a
notice posted on the bulletin board at City Hall and by publication pursuant to
KRS Chapter 424. No bids shall be opened within ten days from the date on
which this Order is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed
for opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for
opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a
contract to the best responsive bidder., The City shall have the right to refuse
or reject any and all bids.
SECTION '3 . This Order shall be in full, force and effect from and after
the date of its adoption.
