A MUNICIPAL ORDER REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIRE HOSE TO BE USED BY THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1-. That the City -Manager be authorized to advertise for bids
for the purchase of fire hose to be used by the Paducah Fire Department, said
hose to have the following specifications:
1,000 feet of two and one-half inch hose (all hose to have
Paducah Fire Department special threads on both couplings).
1,000 feet of one and one-half inch hose with NST couplings.
All couplings to be extruded aluminum with three rocker lugs on
male and swivel. Couplings to be polished and hard coated.
All hose to be double jacket cotton -polyester, mildew inhibited
with a minimum hydrostatic test pressure of 600 psi and shall be
in compliance with the 'latest edition of the National Fire
Protection Association's "Standard for Fire Hose" No_ 1961.
In addition to those markings required by NFPA Standard No. 1.96
the words "Paducah Fire Department" shall be indelibly marked in
letters at least one and one-half inch high near the center of
the hose.
Any additional information shall be obtained from the Fire
Chief's office.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by inserting
notice of the request for bids in The Paducah.Sun to be published as required
by law. All bids received shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after
the hour fixed in the notice for opening of same. All bids received by the
City Manager up to the time fixed for opening of same shall be filed with the
Board of Commissioners, who may let a contract to the best responsible
bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any
and all bids; and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase
said fire hose until the final adoption of an authorizing ordinance and the
execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This Order shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its adoption.
