PURCHASE OF THE CITY -'s -REQUIREMENT OF LIMESTONE FOR THE YEAR 1982-83 (APPROXIMATELY 2,000 TONS) TO BE USED INSTREETCONSTRUCTION BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That.the City Manager be., and he is..hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the City's requirement.of limestone for the year 1982-83 (approximately 2,000 tons). The,.quantity quoted -is a preliminary -estimate only and the City reserves the right to add to -or -delete from same at its discretion. Bid price to be f.o.b. to any destination in the city limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as specified by the Director of the Street Department. The limestone is to be delivered as ordered, by collect telephone call to the successful bidder or bidders, in 100 ton lots or more, and the successful bidder is to guarantee to start delivery within.twenty-four hours after notification and continue until the required amount has been delivered. The limestone must meet the -specifications known and listed as Kentucky Bureau of Highways "Standard Specifications for Road -and Bridge Construction" for No. 2, No. 3, No. 610, No. 68, No. 78, No. 8, No. 9M, No. 11, DGA limestone and limestone rip -rap. The successful bidder may be.required to furnish representative samples of any and all items and all weights of delivered material must b,e certified from some accurate scales in or near the City of Paducah at the expense of the successful bidder. All bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in market price and shall guarantee a reduction in price in the event of a decrease in market price. The successful bidder shall post a performance bond.in the sum of $1,000 guaranteeing specifications and delivery. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by inserting notice of the request for. bids in the Paducah Sun to be published as required by law.. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for -the opening of same. All bids. received by the City Manager up.t.o.the time -fixed for the opening of bids shall be filed with .the Board of .Commissioners -who may let a contract to the best responsible.b_idder.or bidders, and the Board -of Commissioners shall- reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said material until the -final adoption -of an authorizing ordinance and the execution -- of a contract. SECTION 3.. This Order shall be_ -in .full force and effect from and after- the, date of its adoption. - John K.
