A MUNICIPAL ORDER ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF MEMBERS OF AFSCME LOCAL
1586 TO TAKE ONE DAY OFF EACH.PAY PERIOD FOR PAY -DUE DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE,
1983 -
WHEREAS, at a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners on May
17, 1983, the Board of Commissioners reduced the number of authorized positions
in the Public Works Departments of the City of Paducah; and
WHEREAS, the members of AFSCME Local 1586 have requested the Board of
Commissioners to allow the members of AFSCME to take time off work to make up
the cost to the City if members are not furloughed; and
WHEREAS, money saved by the City of Paducah in payroll will accom-
plish the same purpose as reducing the number of authorized employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH as follows:
SECTION I. That the offer of the members of AFSCME of the Public
Works Departments of the City of Paducah to have its members take one day off
work without pay in lieu of reducing the number of authorized employees in the
.Public Works Departments of the City of Paducah is hereby accepted.
SECTION II. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah hereby
expresses its thanks to the members of AFSCME Local 1586 for their offer..
SECTION III. This Order shall become effective immediately upon
passage according to law. .
