HomeMy WebLinkAboutMO # 149 (2)243 MUNICIPAL ORDER NO. 149 A MUNICIPAL ORDER ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPART- MENT IN SUBSTITUTION OF FURLOUGHING MEMBERS OF THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, at a Called Meeting on May 17, 1983, the Board of Com- missioners introduced an ordinance to reduce the number of employees in the Police Department of the City of Paducah; and WHEREAS, nearly all the members of the Paducah Police Department submitted a written statement that they be allowed to work two days without being paid for those days, in lieu of furloughing members of that department; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners feels that this proposal accom- plishes the goals of the City.of Paducah in reducing the payroll of the City of Paducah during the month of June, 1983. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH as follows: SECTION I. That the offers of the members of the Police Department of the City of Paducah..to voluntarily work two days without pay during the month of June, 1983, in lieu of furloughing certain members of the Paducah Police Depart- ment, is hereby accepted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah. SECTION II. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,hereby expresses its thanks to the members of the Paducah Police Department far their offer. SECTION III. This Order shall become effective immediately upon passage according to law. JOHN K.
