MUNICIPAL ORDER NO. 218
A MUNICIPAL ORDER REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO NON-COMPETITIVE
NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE SINGLE SOURCE SUPPLIERS OF 3 -WHEEL REFUSE COLLECTION VEHICLES
_WHEREAS, there are only two manufacturers of three -wheel collection vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the manufacturers' designs vary greatly and open specifications would
necessitate the omission of major design criteria; i.e., engine and frame design; and
WHEREAS, in order to be competitive the City is desirous of testing the new Trident
models without committing to a significant fleet changeover; and
WHEREAS, non-competitive negotiations are being implemented in order to assess the
capabilities of the newly designed vehicles against the established Cushman vehicles.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be allowed to enter into non-competitive
negotiations with the single source suppliers of 3 -Wheel refuse collection vehicles as follows:
(2) with air-cooled engine, manufactured under Cushman brand name
(2) with liquid -cooled engine, manufactured under Trident name
SECTION 2. This order shall be in full force and effect immediately after its
adoption.
