A MUNICIPAL ORDER REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF SODIUM CHLORIDE
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids for the
purchase of approximately 1,000 tons of sodium chloride through the period of March, 1987, in
accordance with the following specifications:

Sodium chloride for highway use only to conform to AASHTO M143 Type
1, Grade 1, as described in the State of Kentucky Highway specifi-
cations. This salt shall be safety treated and untreated highway
salt, delivery FOB Paducah, in 100 ton truck load lots. Anticipated
quantity: 1,000 tons.
SECTION 2. Up to 400 tons of this sodium chloride will be sold to McCracken
SECTION 3. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by inserting notice of the
request for bids in The Paducah Sun to be published as required by law. All bids received
shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for opening
of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for opening of same
shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners, who may let a contract to the best respon-
sible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all
bids; and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said sodium chloride until
the final adoption of an authorizing ordinance and the execution of a contract.
SECTION 4. This Municipal Order shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its adoption.
