HomeMy WebLinkAboutMO # 426u6m hl . , 1, alll .l l l . 11__ I - » .yam M MUNICIPAL ORDER NO. 426 A MUNICIPAL ORDER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DRAW SPECIFICATIONS AND ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR REPAIRS TO THE MARKET HOUSE WHEREAS, the City of Paducah owns the Market House building located on Second Street in the City of Paducah; and WHEREAS, the Market House Museum, Inc. has requested the City to share in the cost of installing a balcony over the lobby area of the Museum; and WHEREAS, the Market House Theatre has requested the City to expend sums for repairs to the exterior of the Market House building; and WHEREAS, the Market House building is located in an Historical Zone of the City. BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager and the City Engineer are hereby authorized to develop plans for maintenance and repairs to the Market House building. SECTION 2. That the City Manager is authorized to advertise for bids for repairs to the Market House building after plans are developed by the City Engineer's office and approved by the HARC Board for exterior repairs to the building. SECTION 3. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by inserting notice of the request for bids in The Paducah Sun to be published as required by law. All bids received shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners, who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commis- sioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids; and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase such services until the final adoption of an authorizing ordinance and the execution of a contract. SECTION 3. This Order shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption. N ODRIII GERRY B.
