EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO
WITH THE KENTUCKY OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR A LAW
ENFORCEMENT PROTECTION PROGRAM GRANT AWARD
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah applied for a Kentucky Office of Homeland
Security Grant adopted by Municipal Order No. 1400 on September 23, 2008, for assistance with
purchasing body armor vests to be used by the Paducah Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security has approved the
application and is now ready to award this grant.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Grant
Agreement and all documents relating thereto with the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security to
obtain a Law Enforcement Protection Program Grant Award in the amount of $6,048 for
assistance with purchasing body armor vests for a total project cost of $18,660 to be used by the
Paducah Police Department. The remaining funds of $12,612.00 will come from the Police
Department's existing budget.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Project Account No. PO0046.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
