MUNICIPAL ORDER NO. 752
A MUNICIPAL ORDER CREATING AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON
WELFARE REFORM
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created and established
an Advisory Committee on the Federal Welfare Reform Act, which
Committee shall consist of three members who shall be appointed
by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Board of
Commissioners. Committee members shall be residents of the
City of Paducah and shall select their own Chairman.
SECTION 2. This Committee shall have the following
responsibilities:
* Perform a detailed review of the new Federal
Welfare Reform Act and its impact on the City of
Paducah, and advise the Board of Commissioners
of these findings
* Make periodic reports to the Board of
Commissioners concerning the impact of this Act
on municipally owned entities such as the
Paducah Power System, Paducah Water Works, the
Paducah Area Transportation System, the Paducah
Housing Authority, and all other agencies as
determined necessary by the Board of
Commissioners
SECTION 3. The members of this Committee shall serve
without compensation from the City, may not incur indebtedness
to be paid by the City, and the City shall not be responsible
for debts incurred by said Committee. Committee members shall
be reimbursed for travel expenses, lodging and meals incident
to their duties on said Committee.
SECTION 4. The City Manager is directed to assign
staff assistance to this Committee from the Department of
Planning.
SECTION 5. This Committee shall be reviewed for
continuation no later than July 1, 1998, or at any other time
the Board of Commissioners shall determine that its assigned
task is complete.
SECTION 6. This Order shall be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its adoption.
