A MUNICIPAL ORDER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
A GRANT APPLICATION AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING TO SAME TO
OBTAIN A THREE-YEAR MATCHING GRANT THROUGH THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO FACILITATE THE HIRING OF FIVE
POLICE OFFICERS
\'I WHEREAS, by Municipal Order No. 774, adopted on
January 13, 1998, the City of Paducah approved a Grant
Application in the amount of $396,258.64 with city matching
funds in the amount of $132,086.21 for a three-year grant
for this project; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the total
amount of this grant will be decreased to $375,000.00 and
the city's matching funds will be increased to $260,910.00,
which constitutes a 59/41% match requirement.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to
execute an application and all documents relating to same to
obtain a three-year matching grant in the amount of
$375,000.00 through the U.S. Department of Justice to
facilitate the hiring of five police officers. The City
will be required to provide matching funds in the amount of
$260,910.00 for this grant.
SECTION 2. This Order will be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its adoption.
